I said before the season started that this Miami team has the talent at skill positions to be a 10 win team...

IF the OL could play mediocre or better -- that is, rank in top15 overall or better, pass blocking and run blocking.

Said beforehand that the season essentially rode on the OL playing decent -- not great, just decent.

Sadly, we've seen the reality play out before our eyes that Gase knows -- or values -- ZERO about the role of the OL as a unit, and acquiring talent for those roles, top to bottom, backups included.

The middle of the line is a trainwreck -- add that to SAM YOUNG starting at LT (how is this even a third level backup plan???) and you have complete inabilty to sustain drives or keep a clean pocket or run block. That is, you have pretty much zero chance at competive games.

10 wins with a mediocre OL. And YES, with RT17 at QB!

Sadly, looking like a 5 win team with the current OL.

Gase is shown his hand over three years -- who he trotted out his first year -- last year, and this. He knows pretty much zero about the importance of the OL, inside to out, and pretty much zero about analyzing/acquiring talent there.

Once again sounding like the same broken record at OL, and as a season, for the Fins. Same as the last decade. Sad.

Tanny was top 3 in time to throw this year at like 2.3 seconds, Gase's offense is built to succeed with average an OL.

Stop with the offensive line excuses!! Just stop!! Please stop once and for all!

This offense hasn’t done crap (other than two long Legit TD drives) all five games except capitalize on short fields. This is a function of Gase and his less than mediocre QB. Our seven year 30 year old developmental QB. And RT was doing the same crap before Gase.

Just stop!

yea average. did you watch the 4th qtr, that line is well below average

Watch Houston if you want to see a below average OL, yea our OL is definitely not optimal but some of Tanny's sacks has been his fault. I think ppl expectations of how an OL is suppose to look in the NFL is skewed around here. Unless u have max protection 3 seconds is always a win for the OL.

without running game we may win 6 to7 game this yr. thill17 and Adam need running game. to keep defense guessing.

take away the gimmick plays, kick returns and shovel passes and our offense is ghastly.

There's plenty of truth to that. On basic drives utilizing standard plays our point output is scary low.

The Raiders game was a flat out fluke but fans didn't want to accept it at the time. First downs 25 to 13, rushing attempts 32 to 14, time of possession 38:30 to 21:30.

After that game I posted this Yards Per Point Differential link, with Miami second in the league at +8.8. I wrote that it was unsustainable and meant the bubble would burst...just a matter of when.

Now the Dolphins are down to 11th at +1.8 after a -5.2 game at Cincinnati. That demonstrates how badly we underachieved on the scoreboard in that game. Things tend to level out.

This week's opponent the Bears are second in the league at +5.8 but it is imbalanced at +11.3 at home compared to -0.1 on the road. The legit powers (Cream) put up positive numbers home and away. This Chicago team has talent but currently is overstated based on home wins over challenged teams like Seattle and Tampa Bay. Definitely a winnable game if our offense shows up.

ryan also cant move like Watson. that helps that he can extend plays with his feet. ryan has some straight line speed, but no agility.

Stats are so much fun....to some....

There are too many "ifs" involved in many posts (combined) for these stats to show any merit when including the Dolphins IMO....

Trouble is, amidst these "ifs" and stats, we don't have a play maker at the QB position....nobody to pull the team together.... to rally the troops..... the team doesn't believe in our QB (IMO) and we, as fans, have NO reason to think or believe he is the answer to a revival.... he brings no energy or passion to the game and if our eyeballs don't let us see the truth then maybe the stats will help us hang on for the ride....this team has been turning out the same false hope for more than a minute and there is no reason to believe the script can be flipped

We need to continue to build a champion defense and focus on a powerful run game...build the team for the next guy up at the QB position....whoever that is let's put our hope on he will be a difference maker... a play maker... and a no nonsense leader that can inspire the team around him

When the dust is settled the team, that regardless of their stats, needs to KNOW they worked their a$$e$ off for a gritty gutsy leader that never says die.... the QB needs to be a play maker.... not a robot

I doubt any reasonable analyst or outside observe would rate the play of this offensive line as acceptable. It is well below an average performance. Do not misunderstand my position. The decisions by RT lost this game!! Gase did not adjust to help him or Young, but this one is squarely on RT’s shoulders. Having said that, your statement discarding the offensive line performance is ludicrous and equivalent to burying your head in the sand!!!!!
