"This is embarrassing for the Dolphins....."

Another reason I think is because teams and their fans think that when they play in Miami its going to be a pretty easy win. We are a team that these fans circle on their calender to attend for that reason. Controversly Miami fans understand the probability that we lose at home is high, so why spend the money.

Myself for example, this was a game I toyed with the thought of flying down from Jersey to go see. I am very happy I saved the 2500 bucks that I can spend on a better, more stress free and relaxing vacation.

You don't wanna come down here in September anyways. Too much planning and money spent just for a weekend to be ruined by rain.

How much are you going to cry about it? Tell this team to stop getting embarrassed at home. Not to mention there's as many Patriots, Jets, Bills, and Giants fans living in Miami as there is Dolphins fans.

You have made your point >>>>> Miami fans suck ... ok ?

We've had NUMEROUS threads and even Omar telling us that.

Are we going to have this EVERY game ?

What are you hoping to accomplish by REPEATLY pointing out this fact ?

You win ....... there are many reasons why but NOTHING you say or do will change that.

Say something good about the locals that spend thier hard earned money to watch us loss 7 of the last 8 home games but still come insteady of bitching about the same thing over and over knowing it will not change a thing.

KICKING A DEAD HORSE will not make him run.

We went down last October for the Jets game and I remember it freakin typhooned a day before and a day after the game. Actually, the day after the game, there was a chance of a hurricane. We got alot of wind and they had to shut things down, even the tiki bar :-(

Why do you think anyone owes anything to this team? Each person should do whatever is worth it to him/her. If spending the money to go to the game isn't worth it to him/her, who are you tell him/her he/she is wrong? I know some people who prefer watching the game on TV - regardless of money. Who the **** are you to tell that person he/she is wrong? Seriously.

What an arrogant post.

let me start by saying, i was at the game last night. now, having been to only 4 or 5 phins games over the past 3-4 yrs, i did come away impressed with the number of people at the game. perhaps that's because in recent years i went to mid or late season games when the team was already a few games out of 1st, and struggling for a wildcard spot, if any postseason at all.

Last night was refreshing, possibly because it was opening night, i did see a huge amount of people at the stadium. that's a rare sight for my eyes, sun life stadium filled to near capacity for a prime time game. that was enough for me, i could not take wipe the smile from my face as i walked thru the parking lots past huge amounts of tailgaters and kids playing football games, the aroma of bbq steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs, everyone enjoying themselves. as for the game in all honesty, i came away impressed... i know we lost, but Miami was in it until the very end (1/2 way through 4th quarter).... again, what do you expect? perennial SB team vs a team of back to back 7-9 seasons...

as for the fans, my father and i had the luxury of sitting in front of a group of Patriots fans vacationing from up north... now don't get me wrong, i was surrounded by dolphins fans, and hell I'll take a 70-30 ratio Phins fans in a sold out stadium any week. That's not the issue... Its that Patriot fans DON'T SHUT UP! Man, this group of guys behind us were yappin the entire game. I was wearing my white Cam Wake jersey, and that immediately got respect from these guys as according to them, Wake is the only guy who's worth anything on our team. I almost blew up here... In the end, after going back and forth the whole game, and they turned out to be nice guys. At one point i did feel the need to state the obvious, a feeling I've had for as long as i can remember: That is, which fan earns more respect, the loyal follower of a team hasn't won a playoff game in 10 yrs, or a perennial Super Bowl favorite? Maybe my logic is off, but to me that answer is obvious.... Miami fans.

Back to the game, like i said, i think Miami played all right. I have yet to watch it on DVR so i missed out on the commentary and replays, but from what i saw in Henne he seemed to have control of our offense. the running game, outside of a scrambling Henne, was non existant. Bush was a dual threat for the offense last night, catching 9 passes for 56 yds and a TD, and running 38 yds on 11 carries... I dont know if he's ever going to run for 150 yds @ 6ypc, but then again, is peyton hillis good for 9 or 10 catches a game. Bush did alright IMO... Marshall put up big numbers, and Hartline showed good hands.

what the last night showed me, was that this team is not yet good enough to hang with the elite offenses in the NFL(stating the obvious) but we're closer than originally thought. The defense will put it together, and the running game will improve with Haynesworth/Wilfork not on the schedule. I loved seeing Henne take off, being decisive, and making decisions using instinct, as opposed to coaches dictating his play.

My original prediction was somewhere around 8-8, 9-7. Now i know the road doesnt get much easier from here and we're in a tough division, but i think this team will win its fair share of games.

*On a side note, i was more pissed off at the Jets win sunday night than Miami coming up short against a SB contender... Rex Ryan must have a horse-shoe shaped butt plug up his *** for the way that game turned out...

The whole effect of winning and Miami fans going to the games is that there WONT be enough seats left for visiting fans to buy. Thats how you get the 12th man.
Winning would bring more fans, but honestly I don't think it would level the visiting fans. I'm sure there are TONS of new yokers and new englanders living down here now for the better weather. And there's a crap ton of steelers fans living in jacksonville, so making a 5 hr drive to see them play down here sounds great.

a team can win and bring more fans, but it doesn't mean that it'll stop rival fans from buying tickets to see their team as well

Why should fans go to the game if players don't take the time to condition themselves to play?

I have friends that are 35 years plus overweight
and can hold their wind better than many players on that defense..

Too many players were lazy during the off-season and it showed on the field with the excessive cramping.

The dolphin defense got destroyed by the no huddle
The dolphin Offense would snap the ball with one second to go so the defense knew when to tee off..
which tells me the dolphins offense was sucking wind too..

This team needs to run miles everyday if they going to have a chance..

+1. Maybe they should stop finding new ways to embarrass themselves on national TV, and fans will come out.

Nubs I have to tell you... I am all the way down here in Argentina... I went to watch the game at a popular expats bar and it was chock full of freaking Pats fans... Loaded. Seemed like every American in Buenos Aires was a leather lunged southie. Same every time. With the Spanish speaking and the HUGE number of Argentines in Miami I thought for sure the Phins would get a little love. NADA... NONE... ZERO...

This is SOUTH AMERICA and the boys are still down here wiping nacho cheese off that number 12 Brady jersey...

I know you are making a broader point but the Pats are an extremely well supported franchise... Good ownership, coaching and most of all... COMPETING YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT... will do that.

Improve the product, improve the gate... it really is that simple and Miami will once again become a very difficult place to play.

Nublar you really love to kill Miami fans but how come I don't see you killing your favorite HC Sparano? The Phins were gassed and practically crawling to the sidelines, like they have never played in the Miami heat before. It looked like we were the New England team and the Pats practiced in Florida all year. Not having them ready to go had had hell of a lot more effect on the game than having a few extra thousand Dolphin fans in the seats.

Truth. We suck as a fan base. I'm sure the defense could have used a little more of a boost when they were gassed and getting gashed, but the fans weren't there to help them out. 1-8 at home and counting since last season.
Well if the fans are there to actually help the defense out then we better be getting paid too
