This Is What I Woul Do

The Jets, Bills, and Cardinals made a mistake and it was known last year those quarterbacks were garbage. Haskins and Lock are elite.
The only mistake is doing nothing and wasting a year. It's not even a mistake, it's simply unacceptable behavior from the GM. Complete failure of duties is what that is.

No, no they are not. Where do you figure they are elite. They would be qbs 5 and 6 in next years draft. My goodness these takes are horrible.

Yah,yah, yah, every year it is just amazing how these guys just get better and better and better as the hype train rolls on.

Fine, you think this year's QB class is elite, wait until the hype monsters get through with next years class, you will be in ecstasy.

Let's say that all QB have the arm, the frame, and can play in the pocket equally, and have adequate escapability, more or less the same, based on game tape, performance. And let's say they can all throw 600 attempts, sample size is the same. Let's how well they did.

Haskins 70% completion
Lock 63% completion
Darnold 63% completion
Rosen 63% completion
Allen 56% completion

Eliminate Josh Allen, he is not as good.

Haskins 66 attempts per interception
Lock 55 attempts per interception
Rosen 45 attempts per interception
Darnold 37 attempts per interception

You can eliminate Rosen and Darnold right there. But let's look further.

Lock 34 attempts per sack
Haskins 27 attempts per sacks
Rosen 18 attempts per sack
Darnold 17 attempts per sack

Now we are getting the picture Rosen and Darnold are garbage. Let's look at scoring.

Haskins 11 attempts per TD
Lock 15 attempts per TD
Rosen 17 attempts per TD
Darnold 18 attempts per TD

Yeah, Rosen and Darnold are not elite. Haskins and Lock are, Top tier.
Ryan Finley is better than Rosen, Darnold, and Allen, if not for the fact he is 24+ years of age. That's why Kardinals will take Murray.

Way to misrepresent stats to fit your narrative..

Drew Lock was a sub 60% completion QB for his career, 57% to be precise.

Darnold completed 65% of his passes for his college career.

That is a pretty big difference overall.

No sub 60% passer in college has had success in the NFL. It is the ultimate deal breaker.

Again...Most QBs, even the shitty one's (Tim Teabow anyone) look good in an Urban Meyer's paint by numbers one read offense. So count me as one who will pass on a QB who developed in that system. History tells us that they tend to fail in the NFL.

I like trading down in the first round and taking OL early would be helpful if you ever want to score more than 23 ppg.

The whole point this year is to go and get Lock or Haskins to enter our SB window. Everything else follows.

They should trade everything and anything to acquire the #2 pick, Luckily it will not take as much as much as everything and anything, and luckily the QBs are available this year.

The whole point is Lock isn't very good and certainly not worth that.

Career numbers are a tenuous argument. Only the last season matters. It's the narrative because old early career numbers are not relevant. They are stale info.

Darnold had a great sophomore year, but still, too tenuous to be the reason for taking him in first round. Too much garbage, too much inconsistency, and the good stuff was in old seasons. He graduated like garbage.

True, Same is true for Alabama. Their quarterbacks perform efficiently. There are two things. One is, Haskins outperformed all previous numbers in that offense, he is simply much better, just like Tua for Bama, he outperformed by large margin all previous levels of offensive scheme efficiency.
Second, you look at the film and see if he can throw, and damn right he can. He can throw from the pocket all over the field.

Incorrect. Go google Eagles trade for 2 pick. Google Rams trade for 1 pick. Google Chiefs trade for 10 pick.

Now let's look at Lock and Haskins, and compare them to Goff, Mahomes, and Wentz.

Again, they can all throw anywhere on the field, from the pocket, have a gun, mobility, frame, all that. All those things equal, except you can automatically eliminate Wentz as being better because he threw for 360 attempts in a 16- game season, which is too low, he is not as good the others. But let's presume he can carry a larger load like the others and give him that benefit of doubt.

Haskins 70%
Mahomes 65%
Goff 64 %
Wentz 64%
Lock 63%

Lock is not as good as Goff Mahomes and Haskins, but it's close.
Let's look at interceptions.

Haskins 67 atttempts per interception
Mahomes 59 attempts per interception
Lock 55 attempts per interception
Goff 41 attempts per interception
Wentz 36 attempts per interception (at low volume)

Let's look at sacks

Lock 34 attempts per sacks
Haskins 27 attempts per sack
Mahomes 22 attempts per sacks
Goff 21 attempts per sack
Wentz 18 attempts per sacks

We can eliminate Wentz. He is just not as good. Consistently at the bottom of comparables.

Let's look at scoring

Haskins 11 attempts per TD
Goff 12 attempts per TD
Mahomes 14 attempts per TD
Wentz 15 attempts per TD
Lock 16 attempts per TD.

Haskins dominates. Lock is close enough. He is not as elite as Goff and Mahomes, but he is up there. Beats them in the pocket game, he is borderline in scoring and completion percentage, but so was Wentz.

Yes, the compensation would be fair, and yes both Haskins and Lock are worth it.

Nope. To all of that nonsense.

Nope. To all of that nonsense.

Incorrect, you are nonsense.

This is why Rams traded for Goff, why Eagles traded up for Wentz, why Texans traded up for Watson, why Chiefs traded up for Mahomes, why Murray will be #1 overall, why Mayfield was #1 overall, why Tua is touted, why Roehtlisberger, and Rivers were great prospects and taken in first round and have done well.
That is sense, not nonsense. That is what teams give farm for.

You have not checked out anything, have offered no facts on what it takes to get a great quarterback, what a great quarterback is, and why teams do it. You are just spouting. Nonsense.

Good comeback. I mean, I could cherry pick random stats to support my stance like you do, but I'll let you waste your time with that. Guy has a strong arm (which draws people in), has shown he can make crazy good throws, and has also shown that he can throw equally godawful throws just as often. I expect more from a 4-year-starter and that has me concerned that we're seeing his ceiling. I'm not giving up that much for that.

Paradis, the best center in the NFL gone on three years 27 mil to the Panthers.

Dolphins could have easily beat that deal.

Gone.....Dee Ford, to the 49ers for a 2020 2nd rounder.

Dolphins could have easily beat that deal.

Gone....Cam Wake to the Titans for 3 years 27 mil.

Dolphins could have easily matched that deal.

Anyone starting to get the picture??

Yep, the front office is finally not making dumb moves.
