Honestly, there is some sense to the notion that Richie considered Martin a friend and was saying all of those things in jest thinking Martin understood it as ribbing between friends, rather than bullying. Regardless, the things he said were vile, and I would never do that to a friend, but football players live in a different world. Not letting Incognito off the hook, but I am just trying to understand the thought process of Incognito being so aggressive in attacking this story and Schefter's reporting if he knew there was all that dirt out there on him.
The only way it makes sense is if:
A.) Incognito is a delusional sociopath
B.) Incognito thought he had a decent relationship with Martin and had a mistakenly thought that Martin didn't view his harsh ribbing as malicious in nature
In the end, it doesnt matter. Cut Incognito and be done with it. Martin should seek treatment, and I just don't think the NFL is for him. Get them both off the team, and find out how involved leadership was involved with this mess.
