This isnt adding up.

Do we have actual audio of these voicemails where the public can hear it? Won't take long to figure out of he's joking. Still kinda bad, but you can tell from the VM if anyone was able to actually hear it.

You mean like this???

I was really hoping this would have been led by some other them, like SF or zona not us.

I agree. While I think incognito's words and actions were poor taste, obnoxious expressions of an immature personality, I doubt he meant any harm by them. Martin may have been offended by Incognito's inconsiderate messages, but I doubt he felt threatened. I also believe he is using Incognito as a convenient scapegoat because somewhat unrelated personal/mental issues overwhelmed the second year player who was currently dealing with a demotion to right tackle and exceptional scrutiny by the media for his play. Several members of the team played a simple prank on him when Martin snapped and embarrassed himself by over reacting. As he stormed out through the cafeteria doors, frustration ruling his thoughts, he realized just how much easier it would be, how much simpler than having to re-confront the players he'd just lost face in front of, if he just walked out of the facility doors and got into his car. Driving away from the facilities Martin felt as if a thousand pounds had been lifted from his shoulders. By the time he arrived home, he'd decided that football was no longer for him. He'd need a good excuse to get out of his contract (while still getting paid) and to save face. Martin, who I believe was pre-med, would know that psychological trauma would be contractually treated like a physical injury and be impossible to disprove, but only if it was caused from within the organization, not pre-existing. Remember Ricky who had to pay back about seven million dollars when he first decided he was done with football? Richie Incognito made a convenient target. I doubt it was personal. Ignorant, crass, and insensitive Incognito, fueled by a homophobic football culture that often uses violence as an expression of affection between teammates who'll be showering together later, made an easy target for that excuse about every other time he'd open his mouth and speak, despite his intention. Now Martin, on IR, gets paid for not playing, which is really what I think he wanted.

This post should be bronzed and hung on the wall.

Just about a PERFECT assessment of the situation as I see it. Saved me a lot of typing.
