This looks good for Joe

Well this must be wrong, because according to half of the people on this forum our whole FO is going to burn in hell for his. After they are fired by Ross, of course. Oh, and Ross is going to sell the team..
 
Martin will say he was not "comfortable" going to him. It never ends with Martin.

I believe the front office is more responsible for this situation than the coaching staff, since I personally believe that this went nuclear because of money.

Dawn Aponte or Jeff Ireland, whichever one of them decided they didn't want to pay Martin's salary while he's in rehab, is the idiot who needs to be fired. Saving one half of a percent on your yearly payroll isn't worth this nonsense.
 
If he's not comfortable talking to Joe Philbin or anyone else WITHIN the organization, then he's at fault for making this a media outlet's dream

They don't get paid for NFI. I wasn't aware of that until a couple of days ago, and that's what caused the light bulb to go on for me.
 
People need to stop blaming anyone but Cogs. Philbin and Ireland didnt hear the voicemails or read the texts till after the fact. If Martin never reached out to the powers that be, then they cant take corrective action.

I kicked some a$$ in high school and it was never my teachers fault.

Cogs is a a-hole and Martin is a coward. Cogs didnt need to be so harsh and Martin should have stood up for himself.

Lets move on. We've got to make a run for the playoffs without these two!!

This is NORMAL policy. They get paid a fraction of what their contract stipulates. No difference than any other profession. Martin voluntarily left the team with little explanation. If they perhaps had full disclosure this would be entirely different.

This is all Martins mommy and daddy.
 
You also have guys who have been teammates of Martin coming out and saying that he never came to them about anything. You also have a new interview with his high school coach where he says he thinks Martin was too embarrassed to tell his coaches or teammates.

So if Martin didn't tell anybody, and he's always been quiet and introverted, it's much easier to see how this went unnoticed

I'm fairly confident you're going to look like an ass when all of this settles. No one is getting fired for this buddy..
 
I thought Mr. Schefter yesterday was saying that the front office and coaching staff either knew or turned a blind eye to it. Interesting......

Also curious how everyone is bashing the other players for not stepping in or the coaches not doing anythig, yet every player and coach so far says they never saw anything. Also curious, that former Dolphin players that have no reason to defend the Dolphins' locker room are saying they never saw any bullying. Maybe this "bullying" and "racist rants" were really only in the texts and voice mails that no one outside Obama could access. I think it is very possible that no one really knew what was going on between Martin and Incognito. Perhaps what they saw in the locker room between the two guys was indeed just your normal joking.

This obviously doesn't excuse Incognito for his racist phone messages, but I would also like to actually hear them and get the tone. As Armando pointed out earlier today, the Martin family only turned over written transcripts of those messages, not the actual message itself. How come? Why not actually let the NFL and the Dolphins hear the messages? I think Martin has just as much to explain as Incognito and the Dolphins do.
 
There is no way possible that this could actually look good for Joe. He set the tone on Hard Knocks for the entire world to see. He presented himself as being on top of everything going on in the facility. If JM's allegations are true then Philbin missed something pretty big. The only way this turns out to make anyone in our organization look good is if JM's accusations are proven to be lies. Especially considering what Incogs dad added before he was outted. Someone in the organization should have sent Martin to counseling or settled this in the offseason IMO.
