Sorry guys but there are so many flawed responses in this one that I can't do them seperately so I will do them collectively:
1. I am not saying that we should keep Sparano. I agree there will be a change
2. Did someone actually use Cleveland and Oakland as good examples of defense? His two season in Cleveland the defense was ranked 31st overall in 2009, and 22nd overall in 2010.
3. We did not draft Pouncey because of his brother. Don't you think it had more to do with the fact that he was a four year starter at one of the top programs in the league and on a National Championship team? In other words he HAS done something. Rob Ryan has accomplished nothing.
4. Using Rex Ryan is an interesting argument. There is no denying the success the Jets have had. I see a brilliant job of gathering talent, I see a really great defense. But I think you could easily point at play calling, clock management errors and coaching that has cost this team. In fact I can reasonable say that if the Jets don't make the Super Bowl this year it is the coaching. They are as talented as any team and more than most.
5. I know Buddy Ryan was not used...seriously?
In the end there are proven coaches out there who are available. Rob Ryan is a horrible choice.
Please cite specific examples of playcalling, clock mgmt errors and coaching that has cost this team the last 2 years? Keep in mind we had a rookie and 2nd yr QB the last 2 years and he took over a team that hadn't been to postseason since 2006 and hadn't won a postseason game since 2004. Rex has done an outstanding job in his 2 years. He is clearly one of the best HC's in the league.
