Thoughts On This Play By Tua - Is The Commentator Right?

Look at the release of each QB and the ball trajectory ...

It looks like Mahomes is throwing a controlled back-shoulder pass due to coverage.

It looks like Tua heaved a rainbow but underthrew the receiver.

It also looks like Tua could have hit Hill just over the top of the defender, with his lightning release and superb accuracy, before the fake.
At the very least, there was a receiver over the middle who had nothing but grass in front of him.

But hey, my eyes are old and I'm no analyst.
I was replying to another poster who said "However, i can hand pick 1 throw from any QB that ever played where the ball was underthrown, overthrown, etc." I posted the clip neither as a defense of Tua nor a criticism of Mahomes, just reinforcing the point of the guy I was replying to.

lol wish people that didn’t have a clue would speak less

This is on the windup after Tua has decided to throw and he’s not open at all. Just starting to break, eventually does come open but most certainly has someone over the top. That however is Tanner Connor who has 3 career reception for 16 yards. Complaining about a 30 yard completion and saying he should of went to tanner Connor is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen on here and something better off kept to yourself in the future as to avoid the complete embarrassment of every other poster thinking you lack an kind of football IQ at all.
Yep. And they want Tua to survey the field before throwing to Tyreek. The guy is the fastest player in the league. Hes running a fly pattern. If Tua surveys the field, by the time he gets back to Hill, he would have been in the next county.

Wow my post definitely got to you! I'm not even complaining about the play, it's obvious that he takes the safety into consideration and adjusts his throw for a great play. I was more surprised that the video was incredibly picky about that, and if anything didn't mention the guy running open shortly after the safety commits to Hill. Not a big deal bud. No one cares about your football IQ, especially with your belittling tone. You could be the smartest person in the room and no one would care with how you talk to others.

I'm not on either side of Tua constant debate. He has his strengths and his faults. This thread is just a pot stirring post.
lol true.

That’s such utter garbage it’s embarrassing. Call a spade a spade you ****ing homer. That ball is underthrown.

Period.

The **** folks will go to to defend this qb that ain’t even legit.
You da man hoops!

exactly this, not many are placing the ball so well between the 2 in a place the wr can come back and make a play.. if thats herbert .. thats prob an int from the safty no question

So now Herbert can’t make this throw. Come on man. This craps rediculous.

I’m not here to defend Herbert but there’s 100 throws on tape from that kid that Tua could never make.

You want to pick someone to talk about throws and execution of em I can tell ya Herbert and Josh Allen aren’t it.

You sound like a bunch of clowns frankly.

Thats exactly right. This tread about one play. Good or bad . Whats the point,

He asked a question about the play. Folks got butt hurt cause unfortunately that play doesn’t project Tua in a great light.

Instead of taking it for what it is I got to read a bunch of utter bs. Just call it like it is.

That’s what it should be about.
What it reall

I'm not hurt at all. I just know @hoops

It's one play and it is being stated like most Tua bashers as this is what happens every time. Do you know how many times Hill has been under thrown by many QBs? ....and not just Hill. The other thing is after the pump fake, the OL is pushed back into Tua's face and the DL is jumping. Tua can't fully step into or even put the ball on a line.

Typical Monday morning QB BS that explains 20% of the play with zero constructive conversation about what led to the throw. Also being sold as this happens every time. I WILL NOT compare Tua or any other QB to Mahomes......but Hill's numbers with Tua are significantly better. These same haters stated that Hill would not be successful with Tua and they were completely wrong.
Tua was tied for 8th in YAC. Mahomes was 7th with 0.1 more yard per attempt. He also had the third lowest poor throw percentage in the league and was second in on-target throws.

Stats can be cherry picked (from both sides) as can a highlight reel, but what are we really doing here?
