Tight End

All I can find Spiketex is what I posted above that he said in December. I think we're going to have to wait at least a few more months before we hear much of anything of substance.

Hard to tell what we have with the two young TE's. They were never targeted with Sherman calling the plays, with their size and both have good hands they should be big mismatches in the redzone!

Ebron sounds great! But they need to address the OL before the draft.
Egnew needs to be split out more not as a H back - that is where clay should be at.
they need to run more 2 TE sets and I form, Single back 2 TE sets.
Egnew and Sims were both 3rd round picks, need them to see the field!!

Agree with this. We spent draft picks in 2 consecutive years on TE's. Its time we develop those 2. I think Egnew could have a break out season if given more playing time and more targets. HE showed me some things last season and def improved his blocking.

Im ok inviting Keller to Camp and see if he can win out a spot. But i dont think he will be ready.

As far as first round go... as stated, i dont want to go OL just for the sake of going O Line. If there are better players on the board you go with them. This draft has some pretty talented receivers in the first and early 2nd round. If a guy like Marquise Lee or Jordan Matthews drop, then you have to go WR. Both players will be studs in the NFL.

OL can be addressed in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well as free agency. Now if a top OL drops to our pick, then pull the trigger if need be. But i dont want to draft an OL just cuz we need one. We need impact players with our first pick and to pick BPA.

The Notre Dame TE (Troy Niklas) is coming out. Maybe we could get him later. He is like 6'7 and is probably the best blocking TE available.

He's a mismatch receiver too from what I've seen.

Dude's going to be a freak.

(For another team. Because the Dolphins don't draft offensive playmakers.)

I don't want to spend a 1st round pick on a TE with the holes we have. The TE i want is Niklas....big body, great blocker, more athletic than i think some give credit for. It will be interesting to see him workout. I'm curious what his numbers are.

And he left such a ridiculous mess that we will likely be forced to draft OT in the first round just out of need.

There are several good OTs in this draft, but if they're all gone by the time we draft, there is no need to reach, just like every other need position. We have enough holes to not need to reach for any one in particular. If a good OT falls to us, pick him. If not, hit one of the other needs with BPA, such as damn near any offensive playmaker, LB, S, or even CB considering Grimes is still a question mark and Patterson is made of glass.

I don't understand people. We have some legit holes to fill and we are talking about TE? Clay has been one of our better TE in recent years. I can't wait to see what a new OC can do with him. He is quick enough, strong enough to break tackles. Resign Keller and that is your depth. Maybe a new OC can use Egnew correctly if not just cut him already. I'd be ok with Clay/Keller. Use that high draft of a TE on a different position. Many people wanted Eiffert or Ertz and honestly Clay has outplayed both.

Having a 6'5" guy with a huge catch radius who can work the seam would be a big asset for this offense. Clay isn't that kind of guy.

Dustin Keller might not ever play football again.

Keller is a bit of a bandaid and he may not even play again. I wouldn't mind drafting one if they are a seam-buster.

The problem is Clay is only 6'3. We don't have a single weapon Tannehill can just throw it up to and he'll win the battle. We have Gibsons hands/Wallaces speed/Hartlines route running and Clays versatility but we don't have a single guy on 3rd and 7 whose just going to snatch the ball out the air even if a DB goes up with him.

Not to mention the impact it would have on Clay's game.
