Time To Play the Guessing Game!

Its the Panthers, Falcons or Jaguars imo. Its definitely not Miami though.

The Chiefs are in cap hell but you better believe they're crunching the numbers as we speak trying to make this happen. Reid drafted him and speaks highly of him. They desperately need a speed receiver to compliment Bowe. I'm not sure who's saying that they're not interested but according to local sports radio, they're wrong.

Pay more money - the Dolphins have 16 million or so sitting up in there - hand 10 to the kid and lets go. Its not my money and its not yours - and trust daddy war bucks can go buy that dude for a year for the cost of the time it takes him to sneeze and get a tissue to his nose in a reflexive action!

We already have a speedy wideout that we're paying a lot of money.

Yes - Its not my money. To me its a joke! Ross is stupid rich and the Dolphins have 16 million in cap space. Go pay DJAX 10 million for a one year deal and call it a day. Would you rather be 9-7 and cap sound - or 11-5 or better and go get a kid that can take our offense to an elite level?
Even if we got DJax and it ALL failed I would rather go for bust and know our coaches and owner got over themselves to put out a REAL product for ME and the rest of our die hard fans - instead of these pathetic 1/2 measures which keep us 8 and 8 and picking 19th in the draft.

You think it is a good idea to spend almost 30M dollars on two WR's?

Miami will ALWAYS fight for 3rd if they continue to play the sideline in situations like this. I COULD CARE LESS if he was Tookies right hand man. Wallace/ Jax/ Harline - who is stopping that? everybody wants to piss and moan around here when the offense looks like we struggle to get a 1st down but when there is an opportunity for Miami to really be elite everyone wants to turn a nose up to it. Miami is completely STUPID to let at least not get in the runnings for a PROVEN deep threat.

So what - sign DJAX to a one year deal - and tie up another 10 or 11 million this year. What are we gonna spend on anyhow?

Guys on this site get mixed up between fiscally conservative thinking and opportunity.

We have a luxury of virtually no $ tied up in QB so take what people are paying jackasses like Flacco and get us to an elite level.

Its not my money so I say spend it - spend all to make ME the fan HAPPY!

Guys on this site remind me of me when my wife and I are contemplating buying our next commuter vehicle or a lawn mower versus lawn service - F that noise - this is the NFL and I have not sniffed a superbowl title since 1973 (nor have the rest of you) so Ross can get his rich rickety ASS out of his office and down to the Dolphins facility and write DJAX a year deal he cannot refuse and make EVERYONE happy!

I havent.. And Gibson.. We'd have what, 40+M tied up in the WR position alone if we signed D-Jax?

Its not about Ross affording it, its about having that 12M in dead cap space that we could use on other upgrades. 12M is a big chunk that you will never get back.

meh don't really care as long as he doesn't end up with brady - which he wont

We aren't getting him lol.

I completely AGREE! And I thank you for saying it!!! It is absurd beyond credulity. The phins have the $. We do not have to spend on a QB - we have been smart and conservative for a moment such as this. Go get him!

And that we don't and we continue to be so damn mediocre is truly crushing to me.

I could stand it better if we at least tried...School marm Philbin and his half-baked notions and ideals about character...How'd that work out for you buddy? For a character coach he had the worse scandal in the NFL in years. It was a pantywad scandal to boot - which said he was not at the helm at his own ship - with the factor that he claimed to be so important to him.

First of ALL their were no Character scandals on Shula's teams EVER! Why because if you f'ed up bad enough he put you in the doghouse or the outhouse! And I remember the days when Huizenga went out tried to buy Shula a championship - it was fail but KUDOS for doing the right thing!

I want DJax bad. I say trade hartline and his 5 million cap hit to someone for a conditional 7th rounder and pay DJax! An extra 3-4 million a year for a pro bowler compared to a Hartline. Ummm no brainer

A conditional 7th round pick? Are you high?

DeSean is not coming to Miami. After the bull**** between Martin and Incog and talk of high character there is no way Miami touches the guy. Especially after the Eagles released him on concerns of his character as a worker and potential allegations off the field.

We are about done in Free Agency, maybe a couple bargain pickups but the splash is over. Time for the draft and some cap roll over.

What in the world makes you think he will sign a one year deal? You obviously did not read that he is looking for a multiyear deal worth between 9-10M per year.

You guys on this site that say, just sign him to this and just sign him to that are unrealistic. Its laughable that you think we have the power to do anything we want in terms of "just signing" a guy to this or to that and its that easy. Be realistic as stated above, what makes you think he will sign a year deal with us, because even for a one year 20M deal, he isnt doing it. He'd take a 4year 36M deal over a 1 year 20M deal as the long term deals are the trend in the NFL.

We all know that 4 year 36 million dollar deals are about $20 million guaranteed. So you are dead wrong. A one year 20 million dollar deal is way overpaying him. He is looking at 8 million a year. Give him an 11 million dollar deal that with incentives up to 13.5 and you will turn his head. In Florida that is equivalent to roughly 12 million with 14.5 when you factor in no state tax. Anything can be done. DJax would be smart to take a deal like that. Remember that's roughly 7 to 9 million take home after tax for one years work and liberty to go out and sign an even fatter deal next year.

Go do it Miami and get over our STUPID self-imposed confinements over character -
