"He'll be faced with being a rookie again,'' Titans tight end Erron Kinney said of Williams, who is expected to file for reinstatement by the NFL in late July. "He'll have to earn everyone's trust back, from his teammates to his coaches to the fans, and that won't be easy. "He bailed out on them, and I'm sure guys will be leery. Personally, I'd be able to forgive him. But at the same time it would be hard to hang a hat on him.''

"He lives his life like he wants to,'' Albert Haynesworth said. "I wouldn't put a guy like that on my 100 percent trust list, but it's his life.''

"But (Ricky) better be ready if he comes back. It would hurt him if he doesn't come back in football shape and his mind doesn't come back ready to play football, yeah it will hurt him. Or somebody will hurt him.''

Wait, Tennessee still has guys on the roster? I though everyone but McNair and guys named Drew were cut...

I couldnt agree more with those players statements....I dont have a problem with other players giving their opinions..ecspecially if I agree with them:D

What I can't seem to understand is why it's coming the Titans???....

Why would they have anything to say, and why should we be listening???....

I could understand if this was coming from a division rival, but coming from a place like Tennessee, it just seems odd. Shouldn't this be coming from our players???...

He's correct when he says Ricky will need to be in football shape, and that he'll get hurt if his mind isn't in the game. That I agree with....

PHINZ RULE!!!

Probably because they were asked about it.

Remember, players rarely if ever approach reporters. Reporters approach players and ask them questions. Does anyone think that all these Titan players called up a reporter and said, "Hey, we want to talk for 25 seconds each about Ricky Williams. Drive on down!!".

I don't understand why people seem think players just say things to the papers without considering the fact that they were probably asked the question by a reporter.

In this case, their opinions are relevant. An NFL locker room is an NFL locker room. Doesn't matter what city it's in.

Shouldn't this be coming from our players???...

It has. Oh so many times.

Who would go all the way to Tennessee to ask them what they think?
I'd even understand a division rival but Tennessee?

The Tennessean. They didn't have to go far.

:lolcry:

The guys were simply asked about Ricky because he is one of the hot topics of the league in the offseason right now.

Like we care what the Titans say, it's all about the home front :rofl3:

Who cares. Slow news day.

Dynamite reponses. It's like you had nothing to say, but managed to click "Post" anyway. Great job.

I think the players comments are accurate.

I mean who hasn't been asked about Ricky? It is a hot topic in the NFL, especially when it is slow. I think the prospect of a Williams/Brown backfield is making some people dizzy.

I love it that they are talking about it. God knows we can use the Pub.

And they'll get to see it up close on December 24th in Miami.

I thought it was interesting that Jeff Fisher said that the best way to handle him is to treat him like everybody else. It makes sense, but sounds wierd the first time you hear it, ya know??

I can't imagine anyone in Tennessee waking up this morning, reading this article in the local paper, and having any interest what so ever. In fact, if I were a Titans fan, I'd be asking "what the hell is this doing in my paper???"...

It's like me opening up the Sun-Sentinel, and reading an article based on what our players think about QB S. McNair making a comeback?!?!

Like I care....Like the Titans fans care what our players think....

PHINZ RULE!!!

What I find interesting is that it is from football players not on the Miami roster. So, they are not "swayed" by the fact that Ricky might help the team, even though what he did was very hard on the team. They give a more honest response to the situation, IMO.
