Titans Players Weigh In on Ricky's Return

Dynamite reponses. It's like you had nothing to say, but managed to click "Post" anyway. Great job.

My reply was just like many of the posters in this thread, why should we hear about what Tennessee thinks when A) It's not their issue and B) They'll figure it out on Christmas Eve?

Ricky is the sexy topic right now in the "dead time" leading up to camp...Its interesting to me to hear all players in the leagues opinion on RW...Ofcourse no one from the Phins will say anything bad right now..but a Titans, Saints etc player can talk alot more freely on the subject than a miami player.

I wonder what the Bears think about Ricky coming back......

Because as administrator of this site, it bothers me when people clutter threads with posts when they've got nothing to say. It was more admonishment than anything else. I wanted you and everyone else to know how we feel about this kind of thing. And my other posts in the thread (which I started) are geared towards the topic.

Basically, if you have nothing to say about a topic.....please don't post.

Back on topic....

Carry on.

*highfives Muck*

cool article as well

I got it! Maybe the Titans are interested in acquiring him through a trade package! We could trade Ricky and one of our QBs for McNair! Brilliant! :goof:

I think its interesting to hear other professional players opinions. It is more favourable to hear positive views about Ricky than negative views. If they totally dissed on Ricky and said we were mad to have him back i may have my doubts but from what ive read they are saying give him another chance cos hes at least a top 10 back if fit, and thats coming from the opposition. With Ronnie and Ricky we are looking good.

It's very interesting to hear from a different perspective (Titans players) on their on Ricky. I agree with Kinney on how it's like Ricky will be a rookie all over again. And Keith Bullock hit right on the nail when he said, "Ricky Williams, when he left, he was one of the top three running backs in this league and if he comes back he'll be one of the top 10 if he comes back in football-performance shape. Plus they've got (Brown), so that's pretty potent,''. Though, I'm a bit surprised to hear him still consder Ricky a Top 10 back, I do think it could happen if Ricky gets back in shape physically and mentally and becomes more mature, responsible, trustworthy, and loyal to the team. I'm not sure if that can all happen, if it doesn't... it's a low risk situation this time around and we have Ronnie Brown and can move on, if he turns over a new leaf and starts helping us winning games... that's nothing but an added bonus in my opinion. Great article indeed, thanks Muck. :rawk:

There is no reason why we should care why the tight end of the Titans has to say about Ricky.

My post annoys you, as the thread annoys me.

Well let them say what they want they have some points though.

If Ricky is to be treated like a rookie as one of the Titans said I wonder if he'll have to carry other players bags, and get tapped to the goal post. It seemed that the statements from the Titans players were that they'd be willing to take him back, but they would not trust him. I think most players on the Phins will probably feel the same way which could lead to Ricky being even more of an outcast, and eventually a team cancer. He's got no trade value so Saban basically has to take him back. Atleast they don't have everything riding on him this year and hopefully Ronnie Brown plays well enough that Ricky becomes an afterthought. He will help the team because Ronnie Brown probably will hit a rookie wall and having a guy who can help take some of the carries away and get Brown used to playing a 16 game season will help.

Probably because they were asked about it.

Remember, players rarely if ever approach reporters. Reporters approach players and ask them questions. Does anyone think that all these Titan players called up a reporter and said, "Hey, we want to talk for 25 seconds each about Ricky Williams. Drive on down!!".

I don't understand why people seem think players just say things to the papers without considering the fact that they were probably asked the question by a reporter.

In this case, their opinions are relevant. An NFL locker room is an NFL locker room. Doesn't matter what city it's in.

It has. Oh so many times.

Exactly Muck, I couldn't have said it better. I too am interested to know what other players and how other locker rooms would react to Ricky's return. There is not a big difference in most NFL players.. this kind of gives us insight into what the majority of our players think. Nice info, thanks!

I know this for a fact. The Tennessee Titans are a very close nit football team coached by a class act in Jeff Fisher. One of their good friends, Kevin Carter,( also a class act) is now a Fin. There is your interest in what's going on with the Dolphins! It's not very hard to connect the dots here.

That was his point, if the thread annoys you, ignore and move on..NBF..why post something negative, when it's not necessary?
