Tom gamble wants dion Jordan in philly

The truth is, there were a lot of teams who had Dion Jordan ranked as high as he was drafted. The truth also is, nobody on this message board knows if Dion Jordan is a Hall of Famer or a bust. He (and any other rookie not named Caleb Sturgis) didn't play enough for any fan to know what he can do.

Well all of those teams had a chance to trade up and take him and none did. We got the third pick for way below market value which is pretty telling.
The truth is also no team will trade a top 10 pick for him this year.

Also we have no clue where other teams actually had him rated , no more truth to that than anything else you are referring to

The Eagles were prepared to draft him at 4. He was also consistently rated as the best defensive player in the draft by numerous draft analysts. Go back and read a little. I also have no idea how to make sense of your sentence, so I'll reiterate my point. No one on this board knows what Dion Jordan is going to do yet. He's not a bust, he's not a great player. He has to get on the field more for us to see if he can fulfill his potential. Hopefully this coaching staff likes playing 2nd year players more than they like playing rookies.

well if we cant get close to the value we spent on him , i say we just keep him and let him become the player everyone thought he will be ..i wouldnt give him away..

Personally, if I drafted a guy at X position, and someone was willing to offer me
the same or greater value for a player, and I had ANY doubt about the ability
or value of that player, I'd take that deal more times than not.

No proof the eagles were going to draft him at 4 just people assuming because Kelly said something good about him. Hell if they liked Jordan why did they pass on Mingo pure conjecture and people believing what they want to believe. you mean those same draft writers that had Martin as a first round pick lol all the draft forcasters had diff people as the best defensive player there was no consensus

Funny how this coaching staff had no problem playing Martin as a rookie and now u want to label them as not wanting to play rookies because the guy u liked was not deemed ready by that same staff You do realize that same staff started a rookie qb but somehow u feel its their fault that Jordan couldn't crack the lineup and play more

Jordan was also injured coming into the year.

Well recovering from injury and just another reason you don't draft him at 3. He was basically a part time player at Oregon, never this dominating force some want to make him out to be.

An injury, depending on what it is, isn't that big a concern in and of itself. Again, depending on the injury.
We'll see how he turns out. He, in my opinion, in limited playing time flashed more ability at his position than
Martin ever did at his.

Well Jordan's highs were fairly high but his lows were pretty low also. I think his injury is being used as a crutch because it typically doesn't take 9 months for a Labrum to heal but who knows.
Never impressed me as more than a good player at times in college but hell anything could happen. I personally think he didn't play because he didn't earn the playing time. Ziggy Answah seemed to be much better as a rookie

Maybe for this years 1st and 3rd with next years 2nd I'd do it. Vernon has emerged. 2nd year and had 10+ sacks. I like Jordan but honestly this would be good for us unless we start using him correctly. I can't wait till Odrick moves inside or becomes a 3-4 DE. Honestly I feel our Dline is better suited for the 3-4. It would be OLB Wake/Vernon, DE Odrick, NT Soliai, DE Starkes(if kept)/Shelby/Wake/ Vernon, OLB Jordan. Both MLB will be Elerbee and Wheeler/Misi.

And who the hell is giving up that package for Jordan lol that's about what we gave up in first place. I mean I would take that deal for Jordan but no team would offer that deal.

"Trust me, the guy who went No. 3, we considered him heavily," Kelly told reporters Saturday, USA Today's Mike Garafolo wrote. "We didn't get a chance to pull the trigger on that one."

He did more than say something good about him. Also, look at Jordan's body language when he was drafted. He was expecting to go to Philadelphia, so he was in shock that Miami drafted him before his coach did. Jordan and Mingo are different players. Jordan is more athletic, and Mingo wouldn't be a good 3-4 outside linebacker.

No, Jordan was ranked as the top defensive guys by guys like Mike Mayock, who actually does real scouting, and doesn't change his rankings every week. He was also the number 1 defensive player on the Cowboys board. Now it's time for you to put your money where your mouth is. Why do you know more than some of the best draft experts, Jordan's former coach, the Eagles, and the Cowboys? Also, since you're such a good judge of talent, do you think that Jamar Taylor, Will Davis, Jelani Jenkins, Mike Gillislie, and Dallas Thomas are busts? Why or why not?

Well the Colts stupidly gave a 1st for T.Richardson
