It's pretty obvious that the Eagles would have taken Jordan at #4 if given the chance.
"Trust me, the guy who went No. 3, we considered him heavily," Kelly told reporters Saturday, USA Today's Mike Garafolo wrote. "We didn't get a chance to pull the trigger on that one."
He did more than say something good about him. Also, look at Jordan's body language when he was drafted. He was expecting to go to Philadelphia, so he was in shock that Miami drafted him before his coach did. Jordan and Mingo are different players. Jordan is more athletic, and Mingo wouldn't be a good 3-4 outside linebacker.
No, Jordan was ranked as the top defensive guys by guys like Mike Mayock, who actually does real scouting, and doesn't change his rankings every week. He was also the number 1 defensive player on the Cowboys board. Now it's time for you to put your money where your mouth is. Why do you know more than some of the best draft experts, Jordan's former coach, the Eagles, and the Cowboys? Also, since you're such a good judge of talent, do you think that Jamar Taylor, Will Davis, Jelani Jenkins, Mike Gillislie, and Dallas Thomas are busts? Why or why not?

Well the Colts stupidly gave a 1st for T.Richardson

Shhh, he tries to win an argument, it really doesn't matter what common sense says.
dlockz is not impressed with any of those guys because he hasn't seen them play in NFL games. Players have to play in NFL games before you can judge them, unless you've already made up your mind based on assumptions or ignorance.
I'm sure you won't be convinced until someone plainly states it, but there is plenty of evidence that Philly was ready to take him at #4. They talked about taking Jordan before and after the draft. heck, they are still talking about him a year later. In your opinion but in reality none of us know. I mean if they wanted Jordan why would they all of a sudden switch gears to OT with Answah and Mingo still on board. We will never now the truth because no GM admits who they were going to take. I don't thin its unreasonable that a team might trade a late 1st to get Jordan because that's what I thought his value was anyway
Please explain how that's common sense. They could have had Jordan if they wanted to , because Im sure Oakland didn't just call us. They said they would have considered him. So they miss on a De then divert to drafting a tackle with two similar rated DE's on board that isn't exactly common sense. Its possible they were going to take him but why cant you or anybody else admit you cannot say for sure. That's not common sense that's speculating on your part. Maybe you should think about what common sense is.
So you never have an opinion on a player until they play in an nfl game? My opinion hasn't changed since draft day on any of the guys you mentioned. Also if Im not mistaken Jordan did play 26.4 percent of our defensive snaps, so I have seen him play and outside of few eye catching plays, I saw way more non impact and bad plays. Cant play the run for squat.

Oakland wanted a 3rd round pick to move from 4th to 3rd
"...When you start to get getting emotionally involved, and I was very conscious of that, then what do you have to do to move up?" Kelly said. "If you move up to get him, then that means you don't get Bennie Logan because you don't have a third-round pick or you don't get Matt Barkley because you don't have a fourth-round pick. It's the accumulation of putting the whole team together. It's saying, 'What are you willing to sacrifice to get one player?..." -Chip Kelly

they ultimately didnt make the move but they mention the price of moving up, not how they feel about Jordan as to why. That's not much to ask in terms of draft value. If Kelly really felt enamoured with Jordan , he would have gave that up in a second but he didn't.
That's a fair demand in relation to that part of the draft

what do you make of the "emotionally involved" line? Kinda sounds like he wanted Jordan...
