Top 3 wideouts?

Between Hartline and Gibson, somebody's expendable. Matthews and Landry are untouchable. That youth is our future. One of the vets gotta go. Hartline is pretty decent trade bait. You don't just take a WR high in the draft to be the 4th/5th option if someone isn't expendable.

Brian Hartline was a good fit for Mike Sherman's offense. I'm not convinced he's a good fit for this offense. The only thing that's really drawn your attention to Hartline in the preseason was Tannehill looking to force him a ball in triple coverage and a couple of ugly drops.

I think this offense definitely is going to click for guys like Gibson and Landry, who can thrive in the middle of the field and pluck the ball out of the air with those big mitts.

Agree.

I would trade Hartline right now, based off what we have seen. I have a sneaking feeling that Damian Williams could give us a lot of what Hartline can, with more vertical speed. Maybe he's not quite as sharp a route runner as Hartline, but Williams can separate and Brian doesn't really fit anymore. The 12yd left perimeter comeback, which Hartline fed off, will be thrown a fraction of the times it used to be.

Gibson can work the perimieter, as can both Matthew and Landry. They all give us more YAC potential and better flexibility than Hartline.

Somebody will give us a pick or a player for Hartline, if we shop him.

It is foolish to trade away an advantage. We need a wide variety of weapons, and a deep wide receiver corp for this offense.

This.

Hartline is too much of a security blanket for RT. The tendency to go to Hartline in certain situations is so clear that the Dallas DB's knew that pic was coming before Hartline did.

I love Hartline, but I see a starting unit of Wallace (only because of money and speed factor), Gibson and Landry in slot. I think that line up brings more to the table, and Hartline can be #4 or traded to Cleveland since they have 0 WRs.

I'm not as sure that Hartline doesn't have a good role here, but I suppose if he was traded for a higher pick I'd be ok with that. I think that so far we haven't seen a lot of roll-outs that were said to be a big part of the offense. When those start I think Hartline has a whole lot more value. We'll see, I just think that with Philbin and Lazor the plan is not just to have 2 or 3 receivers that are starting and a couple backups, but more to have 5 or 6 receivers that interchange. Right now I love our weapons, they may not be as devastating as let's say Denver, but I think it should be a productive squad this year.

Landry will be playing more and more...his hands are the best on the team and he is to much of a baller not to be playing more.

It seems the coaches are easing him in.....but I think they are wasting time personally.

Matthews is a backup.

IF we trade Hartline, it costs us $4M of our cap space for next year. If we do the same next year, we save $3M. Anyone want to pay $4M for maybe a mid round pick?

Gibson saves us $1.7M this year but, $3.2M next year. Could be a possibility. I would also wait a year to see what Matthew and Landry do this year.

A number of contracts we signed are options for next year, not this year.
