MikeO said:Barry Sanders isn't the greatest RB of all time, how can he be on the list?
And an "HONORABLE MENTION" to Tim Brown? Are you kidding?????
Also, Tom Brady and 3 Super Bowl rings must be discussed with this list. Maybe not Top 5, but he is at least in the discussion.
Surferosa said:Heres my Top 5:
Jim Brown: So far ahead of his generation with regards to speed and power.
Lawrence Taylor: Probably the most dominating defensive player ever
Jerry Rice: Bar none the greatest at his position, and its not even close.
Otto Graham: Unknown by many newbies, he reached 10 Championship Games in 10 years. He was Montana before Montana, and led one of the the first NFL dynasties to glory. He helped put Football on the map.
Barry Sanders: No rings, no Championships. Just the most unique, explosive player Ive ever seen.
unified theory
Honorable Mention:
Jim Brown: I never saw him play but he dominated his era.
Barry Sanders: Perhaps the most exciting player ever.
Johnny Unitas: I never saw him play but the guy is a legend.
Mr. Ed: The two rings he got in the end put him on this list.
Reggie White: See Lawrence Taylor.
MikeO said:To be TOP 5 of all time at the QB position you must actually WIN something. Or at least come close and then have huge stats to back ya up. Manning hasn't won a damn thing in this league and shouldn't even be in the conversation. At least get to a Super Bowl. Even if ya lose, get there!
Lewis WAS a great MLB. Anyone who has watched him hte past 2 years knows he is on the downside of his career and average at best. His run as the "best" at his position was very short.
