Tripp in mix for starting job

I'll say this about putting Tripp in at MLB. There's a good chance it could shore things up, simply because at the moment we look appallingly weak against the run.

But I thought Misi was good for his first time out in the middle and the guy has clearly BUST his ass to be the best Mike he can be. I think he deserves a little more time to show us his goods. Taking Misi out for Tripp is essentially penalizing Misi for Ellerbe and Wheelers shortcomings. In the overall scheme, maybe that's the kind of harsh call we will need to make. Just not yet, IMO. Misi needs a shot at this and I saw enough against ATL to think he can hold it down.

Wish I could say the same for the other two. Tackling practice isn't the answer, iirc the same lame remedies were trotted out last season and we were a tackling disaster.

I think you getting flamed had more to do with your over the top love for a 5th rounder whose only played in one pre-season game, mixed with your over the top bashing of Tannehill......which you couldn't help but throw into that thread as well.

Tripp is a good looking prospect and hopefully he is for real...we need it.
 
The beauty about this is even if he doesn't start initially, you know one of our lb's will get nicked up and won't be able to play a game or two. Tripp will have his opertunity to show the coaches what they have this year. If he does excel during the reg season it will be difficult keeping him out of the starting lineup.
 
I hope we give Tripp, McCain and Jenkins a lot of playing time this preseason.
