troy aikman spouts off on #34

Another guy that gets it. I think he's 100% on target.

Is that the same QB that was throwning passes to Michael "sniff sniff" Irvin?

Theisman and aikmen shouldnt cast too many stones.... Ricky smokes pot... Dexter "cokely" and michael irvin we're doing far worse drugs than pot!

Sheesh!.. How quickly some forget

Irvin never quit on anything in his life. No one can ever question Irvin's love for the game of football or the love for his team mates. He never let his personal issues stop him from providing for his family or did they cause him to lose in the neighborhood of 10 million dollars!

I understand completely your argument. The "quitting" part is really the only aspect he can comment on. When Ricky was failing those 3 drug tests... before he quit... I dont know if anyone would dispute that Ricky did run his damn a$$ off.

Now as for drugs.... Cmon... how many athletes are doing them.. of various types... if we only knew... if there were only a few there wouldnt be a market for a "whizzinator"
Now Im not defending Ricky... the guys a has a few loose screws... but when he played.. he played hard. If we didnt stink last year.. he'd be a footnote...

Everyone has a right to quit their jobs if they like... I do.. you do..everyone does. I se plenty of athletes that are great... but i question their "love for the game (T.O.)"

John Riggins quit.. and theisman welcomed him back... As for Aikmen.. Just be a little more accurate. He cant read Rickys mind.

Im not trying to argue. But thanks to Ricky.. we're going to have a much better team for years to come. New coach.. new philosophies etc... Maybe his selflishness actually leads our beloved franchise to a place warmer that even the sun in south florida cant provide.

Just trying to see something positive out of something negative.

They ain't jumping on ricky's *** just becuase of the drugs! They're jumping on Ricky's *** because he cared more about them did he his team mates...

Sheesh. Ricky's a stupid *******!!!!

I just want to clarify something. I am not against Wicky coming back. However I will not minimize what he did and why he did what he did just because he is going to wear aqua and orange again.

He quit, he quit to smoke pot and to get away from the public shame of his drug problems becoming public. He can do that, this is America and anyone can do anything they want to do. But there are consequences, or at least there use to be.

I don't care if all of them are doing drugs. If they get caught 3 times they deserve whatever they get for breaking the rules. He compounded his problems by retiring which basically made him a 4 time loser in the eyes of the NFL drug program.

As far as I know Riggins did not quit a few days before TC was about to start for the Redskins. Further did Riggins quit to go smoke pot in India and Australia? Did Riggins say he has been masking his pot use for years? Was Riggins a 3 time loser in the NFL drug program?

There's no doubt if Wicky has his head on right this is a much better team with him on it. And that is why I support Saban's decision to bring him back into the fold. But Saban is not counting on this nut job. This is why he drafted Ronnie Brown. If Wicky has any value he will be traded away the next off-season. And if he has none and he refuses to play for peanuts I have no doubt Saban will out right release Wicky within 2-years. You cannot afford to pay TWO HB's top $, especially when one them is a wacko who is liable to quit at any time as he is to play for the next 5-years.

And I'm not trying to argue here either. I am however, again not going to minimize what Wicky is and the risks that come along with him being on this team once again.

did anyon catch the segment in the sentinel this morning on what aikman said ? well i wont repeat it . my thoughts on troy boy is he is a ******** and i dont care how manysuper bowls he won. i think aikman is way overrated . i would take bob and brian greise before i would take aikman.

I would take many QB's before Aikman.

If you want to talk about providing for his family and how much money he lost, what do you suppose all the coke he snorted up his nose cost him? What ever the dollar amt was, it was that much less he had to help take care of his family. Was he putting his family first when he was off partying with other players, women of ill repute, and doing drugs?

Just wondering, why do you refer to Ricky as Wicky?

You don't know that, nor do I know that. We do however know Wicky has lost in the neighborhood of 10 million dollars to go smoke pot in India and Australia.

And more to the point, the reason most ppl do not trust Wicky is because of why and when he quit playing football. If he decided hey I am going to quit and it was April and he did not just fail his 3 drug test I don't think anyone would have one negative word to say about Wicky.

Wouldn't you agree?

Riggins DID quit just before trainig camo... he admitted himself interview on 790. I think Yesterday.

I dont know how you cant admit that Rickys quitting did more for turning this franchine into something better than any part of last year. Ricky quitting only exposed how pathetic this team was being lead. I dont know if was really mad at Ricky last year... i was more angry that this team was so ill prepared to handle the adversity. If Ricky was injured then what.. who is to blame for last years travesty?
I sense your anger brother.. i truly do... But carrying it on makes no sense. Hes here now... you may not like it.... but you must admit having Ricky & Ronnie in the backfield is absolutely lethal! Ricky has been a question mark ever since he entered the league. I guess my point is when he puts on the pads.. hes devastating. A record nimber of carries that every analyst admitted that if it continued he wouldnt survive.

Now that hes here.. lets hope he plays.. as he did in 2003.. when he was stoned. and yes.. we have Ronnie... this is ano brainer.. theres nothing to lose.. for Ricky.. theres everything to gain!

They easily could have.. All the philandering and coke use.. He could have been locked up, then what? Would he still be a better man than Ricky because he didnt quit on his own accord? It would have had the same effect.. They both would have done it to themselves..

Im sorry, but I just dont see the argument that Irvin is somehow a better teamate than Ricky..
