Tua needs to consider retirement...

I agree it might not be up to him and I'm not sure what his contract guarantees in this situation. A lot of contracts have "career ending injury" clauses don't they?
I was just about to ask about his contract contingencies. Not sure. Hope there's an injury contingency built in. Maybe that was part of the hold up this off-season?

I love the guy as a player but we really need to think of ourselves, as a team, and think about what we can do moving forward. Have to hope we can draft a guy to eventually overtake the team. Can McDaniel stay afloat until then?

LOL....like he's going to voluntarily give up all that money.

Even if forced out, he gets a lot of cash. If he quits he doesn't

It's exactly why Alex Smith played that final year, he was owed 17mil or something so long as he said he was not retiring
It's called a settlement. Ever heard of contract law? It's not like he can sign the contract and just sit and get paid.

#1. For his health and for his family
#2. For the dolphins. We need to move on. He's not the long-term (or even short-term) answer.
Tell us something we don’t already know
I don’t even see how this can be a conversation

Good God

Consider? He's finished. After all the talk about how he wasn't at higher risk for a concussion. He took a middling hit and got a concussion.

He was never made for this league. No doctor should be able to keep his license and sign off on Tua playing again, but this is Florida.

1.5 years ago this thread topic was appropriate, and I started one of the same at that time. Now, obviously, it would be good for Tua to retire, but not as good as had he done it after his 3rd concussion of the 2022 season. Back then Tua and his family wanted money so they risked it and he played the 2023 season. Now that Tua has received lots more money hopefully he will retire.

Has any QB ever continued playing after 4 major concussions?

Tua secured the bag. He’s done.

Yeah probably all of them. People don’t realize how many go undiagnosed or not reported.

Aikman had 10 diagnosed in 12 seasons though, Farve estimates over a thousand, Bradshaw had 6 and never left any of the games. I’m sure there’s more but those off the top of my head.

I doubt he retires and he’d lose a lot of the bag upon retiring.
