Tua Tagovailoa has given Dolphins answers they needed and earned new contract

This is an organization that’s been trying to find a QB since the mid 1700’s. They finally have a guy who looks like he fits the part and we can’t wait another 96 hours before we see how he plays in the biggest game of his pro career before moving on from him? I’m not 100% sold on him, but I am sold on believing that moving on from him now has a much lower chance of working out than sticking with him does.
Is Tua one serious concussion away from retirement?
Isn’t every player in the NFL one serious injury away from retirement, though?

Maybe the Bears will take him for #1 overall.

Yes, good idea, so we can use it on one of the top QB In the draft that have proven nothing yet, unlike Tua who has already proven to be good enough to help his team to 11-12 wins season, and a .650+ winning percentage so far in career (.660+ last two years) on a team that seems to always lead the league in serious injuries.

You know what, I will stick to the sure thing, and let the Bears keep their overall #1.

Pay the man. And away with the horse fly shet talkers who keep talking about finding a replacement for our QB.
I completely disagree. He has not come up big in one single important game. The only game we have been competitve in against the Bills lately was the playoff game Skylar Thompson started last January. Tua is pretty good when he is not being pressured and can stay in the pocket. Against more physical teams like the Eagles, Chiefs and Bills....? Not so much.

Did the defense show up or is it always just on Tua?

They were competitive against the Bills with Tua twice last year. Winning once, and losing by 3 on a field goal as time expired the 2nd time. And there was that game winnning drive against Dallas just 2 weeks ago. I’m pretty sure that was an important game.

You are right. Thank you for calling me out on that. Completley forgot about the win. He's 1-5 in his career against Buffalo with a QB rating of 79.6. My point is he has not played well against good defenses.

Nope, according to the Doctors that checked him out, and treated and watched over him.

According to those Doctors, after he got the rest he needed, he would be good as knew, and be in no more serious jeopardy as any other player.

Look, there’s no arguing his stats overall against Buffalo haven't been great, but neither have the teams he was playing on. Meanwhile, in the majority of those games the Bills were a Super Bowl favorite. It’s not as simple as a case of, “Tua is bad against good defenses”. But more one of, the Dolphins as a team haven’t been good enough to comepte with the best teams in the league, and that includes Tua’s performances.

Given all we have had to put up with since selecting Tua (Herbert love, Watson distraction, inability to get along w/ the previous coaching staff, concussions and general fragility) I think we deserve a bit of a discount to secure his noodle-arm, no playoff-game winning, non-mobile abilities for another 4 years. I'd offer $37.5MM plus incentives for games played and games won against winning teams. Max with incentives of $39.5MM as he should slot in below the names above.

Even with a discount though that's way more than we are paying now, if we can't win the division or a playoff game with a loaded roster how exactly are we ever going to get better with the same QB and less to spend on the roster? Tricky business. Need to start drafting a QB late every year and look for the Brady/Purdy's of the world and get back to a rookie QB contract as soon as possible.
Noodle arm? Do you actually watch any of his throws?

**** no
He deserves a new contract but not huge money
Let’s see after the playoffs
I use the 5th year option and make him earn it. He has not shown he can play in prime time against big teams

Thank god you’re not the GM

The market will determine what he will make, period.
