Tua's 12.2 average yards per completion is pretty good.

TBH, I think OP was badly worded and was sort of all over the map... But we dont need to follow suit. A more realistic comparison would be 21 Tua compared to 20 Tua without even bringing up how strong of an arm he has...

Tua's Y/C is 1 full yard better this year, and his receivers arent getting more YAC, so he's absolutely completing passes deeper this time around. While throwing the ball deeper, he's also improved his efficiency, which is at 7 yards per attempt compared to 6.3 last year.

Now the supporting cast last year was bad, its even worst this year. The OL is historically bad compared to bad for the year in 20. His receivers are at the top of the league at drops, which wasnt the case last year. They're also bottom 3 of the league at getting YAC.

Stop making sense posters gonna start complaining About new stuff I dunno Tuas lettuce, Tuas wink Tuas repaired hip Tuas height Tuas golf swing Tua with or without eye paint - you know the regular

Just looked over some of the other qb stats from week 9 and Tua's average completion yardage (12.2 yards per completion) is better than Baker Mayfield, Burrow, and Herbert. Not too bad for a guy with a weak arm that can't throw downfield.

It shouldn’t have to be said…. But, one game?

He was better than Jacoby that's for sure. Last year he was good in redzone. This year, passing in redzone is a problem.
He needs to take over the offense, like Brady and Rodgers, and all great QBs, and soon, and he has not done that. That is the problem.

Whether you like Tua or not, if it's going to be a choice between watching Brissett or Tua, I am going with Tua every time. He needs to play so we can see what he's got. No doubt Tua has some work to do. He was a little rusty with his accuracy, but at least he is looking downfield and connected with Waddle and Wilson. Our OL is so inconsistent and porous that no QB could get into a rhythm playing behind them. We have no running game. I think Tua did pretty well, considering.

Is it just me or did it look like Tua had to put every single once of oompf in that throw to waddle. And it was only 35 yards. I dunno, maybe it was just me

Nah didn’t look like too much effort. In any event it was a great throw. Splits two defenders towards the outside away from safety coming over the top.

We don’t count Herberts and Burrows YAC?? - Ridonkulous!!

Lol exactly.

There's a reason why it gets pointed out the Tua and Herbert's yards in air per attempt is similar.

Obviously Herbert has the stronger arm.

But people see 2 hi lites of Herbert and thinks he just slings it all the time.

Not true.

Interesting stat from last year. Herbert's receivers had about 85% more yards than tuas.

Brady whole career was YAC.

ALSO...

that throw to Wilson was not a 10 yard pass. It was about 25 yards in air with plenty of zip.

More plays like that and if his WRS can break a tackle or 2 all of a sudden Tua looks like Burrow and Herbert.

That's, statistically, the major diferrence between the 3 is YAC

Tua's yard per attempt this season is 7.0, tied for 21st overall, interestingly he is tied with Allen AND Mahomes

How dare you compare Tua to those 2. Facts and stats don't matter. Come on man.

Just curious... what is Tua in air per attempt compared to Herbert, Burrow and MAC jones

Well Tua did pretty good without his war paint. So........

Can you sh

Agreed but I fairness..... he typically is in rhythm then we get a penalty or 2 almost every red zone trip.

I understand he needs to overcome it. But it's like expecting a defense to consistently stop teams 1st and goal on the 1.

1st and goal from the 2
False start on Jackson
1st and goal 7
Gaskin 1 yard run
2nd and goal on the 6
Holding on Jackson
2nd and goal on the 16
Draw play
3rd and goal 13
Check down

Difficult to produce when the line or someone always decides to hold or false start every single red zone trip lol

Cool cool cool 1 game... yup yup.

So rather than per completion.. let's look at in air per attempt.

Simply because per completion includes YAC .

This season
Herbert-7.4
Tua-7.0

Hmm, more than 1 game sample size.

Looks to me like YAC appears to be the diferrence between top tier and Tua.
