Lawrence is worth this deal. Tua is also worth this deal. I don’t understand how a fanbase that watched 20 years of Jay Fiedler, Matt Moore, and Chad Henne could not understand the value of a franchise quarterback, but here we are.

It doesn’t matter if you think Trevor Lawrence is elite. It doesn’t matter if you think Tua is elite. You pay them and find out if they can win you a Super Bowl. Otherwise you get to enjoy a few decades of Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson, and the best 40-year old quarterback at the ayahuasca retreat, with or without an Achilles made of reheated spaghetti.
Nobody is worth 55 million a year.

At least if we pay Tua, we can negotiate with, sorry we had to pay Tua.

Yes, that's our final offer...

Do you understand context? I'll hold your hand on this one. Only reason I brought up that stat is because a previous poser claimed "literally not a single metric that Trevor is better than Tua at". All I did was point out that he was literally wrong. Take THAT L and shove it up your bum sideways. I'm sure there's plenty of room.
again, 'wow you sure showed him. /s'

This is the equivalent of a team being happy they scored a goal in a game they lost 10-1.

Congratulations buddy, you want a participation trophy??

Here's another one: playoff wins.

Looks like i'm now only down 10-2. Time to literally pull the goalie!

Grier is definitely having some tums this morning. But, they are the ones who have taken so long. The deal just got more expensive and they can only blame themselves. Tua is not taking less than Lawrence. No way.
Why exactly? Lawrence was the first pick in the draft, Tua 5th. Lawrence came in the league after Tua yet has a playoff come from behind victory and Tua has none. Tua has McDaniel and Tyreek Hill, Lawrence does not. Tua’s first 2 years were not special until those guys got here. Lawrence is much more mobile than Tua, he can extend plays, is big enough to see over the line, has the stronger arm. Tua has better stats the first half of the last 2 seasons but how much is Tua and how much the other guys? Not to mention 2 seasons of melting down the 2nd half of the season. To be fair Lawrence melted down the 2nd half of last season. Is Lawrence weather impaired as Tua is widely seen to be?

A lot of gray area, hard to say he definitely deserves more than Lawrence at this point as in no way he doesn’t.

See below post.

Tua's contract should be higher than Goff's or Lawrence's, I would assume he's been asking for more. If it's in the $65 million-per range, I could see the delay
Right. I agree. It should be. But if Im Grier, I honestly dont think I'd do it. Its a major commitment that will either make or break the franchise for the forseeable future. Do you gamble on Tua and hope and pray you roll a 7? I think the odds are just as good that you get snake eyes.

Lol, what kind of nonsense analogy is this? 7 is the easiest number to roll. And the odds aren't the same to roll snake eyes, like at all.

1-6
2-5
3-4

1-1

Also, if you are trying to make some kind of craps reference, 7 is what you do not want to roll.

I'll bet on the NFL's passing leader, for sure

You mean the game he threw 4 interceptions? He was the reason they had to try come from behind.

Tua's played in one playoff game in freezing weather and half a roster on IR.

Exactly.

Either people are ignoring it or just haven't looked at it.

60% of our starting o line is an injury risk. 20% Ilis Eichenberg.

Based on recent history, there is a very realistic chance Miamis starting lineup by week 5 will be
Paul/Jones/Brewer/Eichenberg/ K. Smith.

Does anyone seriously have any confidence in that lineup? No amount of D lineman or DBS will fix that

This organization has di$%Ed Tua around for 4 years. McDaniel is the only one that seems to have any respect for Tua, in the decision making area.

I hope Tua breaks the bank and doesn't settle for any less. He and this organization deserves it IMO
Injuries happen everywhere, there is a realistic chance our starting QB by week 5 is Mike White. I don’t have confidence in either an injured OL or injured QB scenario.
