So what, many qbs of the past had all the tools to be great, but never went more. The most imporant part of being a qb often is the mental part

If Tua doesn't reach a deal within the next couple weeks then I fully expect no deal is coming for Tua this off season. Tua will bet on himself and Grier will stand firm. I think Tua loses the bet.

Don't disagree with the thinking but if you believe he is the guy you pay him now. Because he absolutely will break the bank with a playoff win under his belt. I for one would pay the young man now.

It's possible there is still a chance Tua comes in at around $50m per. But I'd not be surprised if it's closer to $60m. My guess is between $55m-$60m.

He’s getting more than Lawrence guaranteed and he deserves it

I dont think it's Tua, I think our Front office is dysfunctional.

This has been apparent for years, we just chose not to see it.

Ross has been one of the biggest spenders in free agency and he has never balked at signing players to big contracts.
This might have been a case where both sides were waiting to see how much Lawrence signed for. The Dolphins were probably hoping it would be for a lot less than he ended up signing for and Tua and his agent were hoping it would be for well over $50 million a year.

Tua and his agent won and now the Dolphins are just going to have to pay up or risk losing him in free agency to another team that will be happy to pay him the money he deserves.

The line is drawn. If you think you have a young qb that is capable of winning big games for you than you need to pay him the going rate. On the other hand if you don't think Tua is that qb than you not only don't pay him the going rate, you need to start looking to move on and find your guy. Why would you pay him $45 million per year if you thought he was a below average starting level AFC qb.

For the record I would have paid him weeks ago.
