Waddle's answer was simple. In fact, some had even correctly speculated in 2021 that this was the case. Waddle said he chose Jones over Tagovailoa because one was already in the league and the other would have benefited from an endorsement from one of the top receivers in the draft class.

Again you are speculating as to why they might have said it.... Explaining it away. Does not change the fact that they said it. Period.

You think expecting a QB to deliver when he is surrounded by the most talent in the league at the skill positions a ridiculous goal?

Let me ask you, What is the objective for a team each season? (Hint... It is to win the Superbowl.)

It is not a new Goalpost.... It was always the ####ing goal post.

They went all in.... Sacrificed the future gave up mega draft picks... overpaid players to come here built this around Tua. I am sorry... 10 or 11 wins and a first round playoff loss in the wildcard game is a colossal failure.

You are trying to save face by changing the debate into Tua vs Mac Jones.
You are trying to pretend I said that Mac Jones was better.

Stop lying.

I merely pointed out that everyone ate at Bama no matter who the QB was. They won with all three of them and when asked who they preferred (top receivers) they picked Mac Jones.

They picked Mac Jones.... Not me

Please take as much time as you need to understand this.

Hoping for a Superbowl appearance is fine .Expecting a Superbowl appearance for any QB is a ridiculous goal .

you are purposely muddying up the waters. You said everyone ate at Bama... that was your line. I pointed out that they ate with the other QB's also. Then I showed the quote where the top receivers stated they preferred Mac Jones.

Now Waddle later waffled (Which can be expected when he has to play with Tua) But he said it.

By the way I did not see your explaination as to why the other top receiver at Bama said it... where is your video saying he was just joking also???

I truly feel sorry for you. I understand it in a way. This franchise has been so bad for so long that people now get excited with a playoff appearance every decade. Being mediocre and making an appearance in the wild card game is like the Superbowl to you.

Sadly for properly run franchises this would not be enough.

25 years without a playoff win, and you are still shaking the Dolphin pom poms because we did not finish last.

Now your lying about what i said .. you said everybody @ bama not me i said just waddle you came back with a link that said smith and waddle . And now who`s speculating Waddle said why he said it and your saying but but but he said it . As for why smith said it , now i`m speculating .. he said it to help his team mate get drafted same reason Waddle did , not sure why thats so hard for you to understand . Actually i know why because your just itching for it to be right any thing negative about Tua is good for you right .

Ya because injuries never happen and derail a teams season right . Feel sorry for me all you want i really don`t give a ff how you feel for me .

Now let me ask you... do you trust Tua's mentalism enough to offer him this massive contract? Forget the injury concern, as that's well known and valid. Can you trust him against elite defenses?

I actually agree with much of that.

I would have preferred letting him play out the option year in a perfect world. The reality is that doing that creates issues on a few levels.

I don't really question the mental aspect. The poor bastard has only had two years in the same system once in his collegiate and pro career, and I have never had the impression he was in over his head.
