Ya because injuries never happen and derail a teams season right . Feel sorry for me all you want i really don`t give a ff how you feel for me .
Ah... yes.... the typical injury excuse.... Thank you for going to that so early to let all of us know you have no game

Thats right from waddle i`m not speculating at all . Keep living in your little fairy tale there though where jones is better then Tua .
To play devil's advocate here, you are speculating on "why" he said what he said either time.

Either way, he was not truthful at one point or the other. I can understand his reasons for both circumstances.

You prefer to take one at face value over the other, and that's fine, but I at least acknowledge the possibility that there are two valid ways to read the situation.

You think expecting a QB to deliver when he is surrounded by the most talent in the league at the skill positions a ridiculous goal?

Do you want us to be mediocre or worse forever?

Let me ask you, What is the objective for a team each season? (Hint... It is to win the Superbowl.)

It is not a new Goalpost.... It was always the ####ing goal post.

They went all in.... Sacrificed the future gave up mega draft picks... overpaid players to come here built this around Tua. I am sorry... 10 or 11 wins and a first round playoff loss in the wildcard game is a colossal failure.
For a team that has done nothing for nearly 20 years, 10 or 11 wins and a first round loss to the eventual Champs with guys getting signed off their couch to play isn't a "colossal failure". It's called progress, sometimes you just can't win it all straight away. First year was 9 wins, second year 11 wins. Things are moving in the right direction.

Tua is surrounded by great talent at the skill positions but the line in front of him is still going to be in the bottom 3rd when it comes to pass protecting over 2.5 seconds. There really aren't many QB's in the league who can actually run this offence with the efficiency Tua does with the ball handling, footwork, recognition and quick release required. Some people really gloss over just how hard some of the ball handling and footwork that is required is because Tua makes it look really, really easy.

I think we will see improvement again this year but it might not be enough for some if it doesn't end up with a Super Bowl win which would take luck, same for every other team.

Things are moving in the right direction is not an acceptable reply.

What was given up in trade for Chubb and Ramsey and Hill
The overpaying of these players to stay in Miami

We are locked into win this year or we are Fooked.

So modest baby steps forward and showing a little progress... Not acceptable.

Understand the situation... Understand the conundrum we are in.

Tua wants his 55 million per.

We do not have the money to pay him

Because we are overpaying Ramsey, Hill, Armstead

There are problems coming.

You are the prototypical beaten down fan.

Loyal

But beaten... you no longer have any real expectations of winning. So you make comments like:

We did not win anything for 20 years... so making the playoffs is great.

Things a beaten down fan says for $200 Alex.

I understand the cap actually (well, mostly). We can afford Tua's new contract and by the time the big hits come in (around 2027 or so) Hill, Armstead, Ramsey and Chubb will all be gone by then so we aren't "Fooked".

All you can ask for is improvements each year and signs that things are getting better which I believe they are. If the team can stay relatively healthy (not have to use guys who are 3rd or even 4th on the depth chart for prolonged periods of time) then I believe this team is as good as any in the league.

I still think the best course of action for the Dolphins to reach or win a Super Bowl is to pay Tua and go from there, I don't believe we need to blow everything up and start all over again. It just feels to me this team isn't very far away.

Not at all, I see a team that is very close and no need to blow it up. It's hard to win on the road and most of last season's "big" games were on the road. Look at the Ravens, they had everything you could want last year, homefield advantage, #1 ranked defence, #1 ranked running game, a QB that a lot on this board would give their left nut for and yet they fell short yet again. Will they ever get another chance like that? Should they be blowing it all up now?

If that was the Dolphins, homefield advantage, healthy roster, #1 ranked defence and they came up short then sure, blow it all up as it's clearly not working.

I'm not loyal to a fault at all, I got to the stage of apathy with the Dolphins that I didn't even really watch the games live for 4 or 5 seasons until McDaniel came in and showed what it's like to run an NFL offence that gives you a chance.

Just more excuses...

That is all Dolphins fans have had for the last 25 years.

You might think it's an excuse but I see it as a reason.

Typical Dolphins fan for the last 25 years, all doom and gloom and can't notice a good thing right in front of their face.

See, it can go both ways but I'm sure you'll come back with the "I'm just a realist" thing next.

The problem with this sentiment is that when they asked all of the Bama receivers who their favourite QB was (waddle was included in the group) They all picked Mac Jones over Tua.

Not trying to be a dick, just pointing out that everyone eats at Bama regardless of QB. Tua was not their favourite.
Didn't stop Waddle from re-upping. Also have not heard he had asked for a trade to JAX to be reunited with Mac.

Meanwhile Tyreek has been effusive in his praise. Guess I will go with "who cares what happened years ago at bama?"

Nice try Bud ,here`s the real end to the story though .. It was speculated that this was said to help their then team mate get drafted . When asked ..

Waddle's answer was simple. In fact, some had even correctly speculated in 2021 that this was the case. Waddle said he chose Jones over Tagovailoa because one was already in the league and the other would have benefited from an endorsement from one of the top receivers in the draft class.

That’s my recollection as well from reading that story a long time ago.

Even the devil can quote the Bible to his ends.
