When the GM sacrifices the future by over paying people to come here... Trading away years of draft picks to win now... You need to win now.

Despite all of this, we have yet to win a playoff game over the last four years of this rebuild.

The window where the QB is affordable is almost closed and we have cap problems. As of right now this rebuild has been a failure. I was not expecting a SB immediately... This is year 5 for Tua... 4 years in and we are not even a team that can win a playoff game.

The way people here talk they act like Tua is a rookie and we need to be patient so he can show us what he brings to the table... So he can grow and improve. Well this is year 5 and Tua wants 55+ million and he really has not shown us much. I wish more people realised this.
I understand the frustration in not winning in the rookie contract window, but that rarely happens anyway. And technically, this will be year 3 for the "win now" theory, as Tua's first two years were with Flores, and that offense did anything but try to win. I personally do not think we are better off without Tua, and feel he has shown enough to extend him. The price is not something we as fans get to determine.

I want to win as well, but after all the years I have been watching this team win 10 games just to crap the bed the next year....2 consecutive years of making the playoffs with true optimism for year 3 has me feeling pretty good. Not being able to re-sign Tua will make those feelings go away pretty fast.

Wow...a lot of cannibalism here....I know this is the internet but might I suggest that it OK to disagree with someone without insults? Particularly from behind a keyboard...?

I like Tua...I want Tua to do well. At the end of the day I root for this team hell or high-water and if they dragged F'in Moe Howard's corpse out there to play QB, I root for him too. Because that is what I do and what I'd guess most of us here do.

J-Ville - not sure what they were thinking with Trevor Lawrence. Desperation? I would say he isn't worth the money but apparently he is? I certainly don't get it.... Almost like they are paying him for who he was supposed to be but surely hasn't been yet...hmmmm I'm sensing a theme...

While the Deshaun Watson/ Flores/ Ross stuff was ugly for Tua..and I sure as F would hold a grudge...I think between McDaniel and the obscene amount of talent (OK maybe not so much on the O Line) they have surrounded him with I think the team has shown some good faith in the last couple years. Of course McDaniel has been well figured out late in the season two years running...as has this offense and I'm probably not the only person around here watching the perimeter passes to Tyreek again and again and again while drunkenly screaming at my TV.

Like a lot of people I wonder why Tua doesn't elevate himself or his team in meaningful games. He. Just. Doesn't. Yep he was the passing leader last year...but that isn't the guy I saw against Buffalo (x3), Philly, Baltimore, or KC. So do you pay him for the Broncos, Giants and Commanders games or do you pay him for the others? Not an easy question.

Personally, even though I am probably bearish on Tua, I would give him the fat contract as long as you have emergency exits...you want to front load it with dumb ass guaranteed money be my guest....but have a freaking pre-nup ! At the end of the day you are going to pay someone for one solid season...and when I say solid I mean he made through all 17 games for the first time in 4 years. Yes I know the team was compromised by injuries...but there is a real possibility they could overpay and be married to Tua and he could promptly get hurt and/or take a big crap in his helmet with his play. Just is the reality. At the end of the day he has proven very little in real substantive gains as a "franchise QB."

I thought Tua's comments a few weeks back were somewhat churlish. Dude - Jared Goff has been to a Super Bowl....market is the market crap is for your agent. I get that he is trying to get paid but I didn't think it was his best look. Pad that resume first....then talk shite? Show up for 11 on 11's..be the guy you have been until you have proven you can be the guy you're trying to be now. Didn't make him any more likable for sure.

And if it gets to the point of no contract before training camp (which I don't think will happen but who knows?) Is Tua gonna become an angry elf? How will that affect his play and his eventual market value? If I were him I would ask myself that question. But I ain't. Going back to my beer now.

Have a great day everyone....Anyone know where I can get a Fins Moe Howard jersey?

It's year 2, going into year 3.

The first 2 years we had a coach who hated the QB and was doing everything in his power to get rid of him, playing him in year 1 when everyone thought he needed to sit the year to let the hip heal. Then in year 2 you could see that Tua was going to be a good QB if he got any semblance of help, he was fitting throws into ridiculously tight windows as everyone not named Waddle couldn't get separation. He still managed to put up a league average 92 passer rating while playing behind what PFF graded as one of the worst OL in history, allowing 50 more pressures than the second worst line. We know how quickly Tua gets the ball out, just think how bad that line must have been.

Since the new coach came in (you know, the one that knows offence) Tua has only put up top 5 metrics in nearly if not every QB vital stat for 2 years running. He's one of the most efficient passers in the league in this offence, why would you want to give that up?

To be successful in todays NFL you need to pass the ball efficiently and stop the pass efficiently. The Dolphins are halfway there btw, it's the other side of the ball that needs fixing. In all 6 games last year that the fans call "big" games the defence surrendered a 100 passer rating in every one of them. It's hard to win games, especially on the road against better teams when your defence is doing that. Just go look at some of the passer ratings the likes of Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson etc put up on the road against good defences.

If the Dolphins are to go on a long, deep playoff run they need the pass defence to be better imho.

Things are moving in the right direction is not an acceptable reply.

What was given up in trade for Chubb and Ramsey and Hill
The overpaying of these players to stay in Miami

We are locked into win this year or we are Fooked.

So modest baby steps forward and showing a little progress... Not acceptable.

Understand the situation... Understand the conundrum we are in.

Tua wants his 55 million per.

We do not have the money to pay him

Because we are overpaying Ramsey, Hill, Armstead

There are problems coming.

Easy there, Ned…

Some of you guys....everybody using time from their life on here talking about the team is loyal. Unless you are a troll with mental issues just wanting to get a rise out of people on the internet.

But there's a difference between loyalty and brainwashed.

A former player who'd explain it best would be none other than Csonka.

It's been explained to you over and over why they said what they said yet you continue to

Nah... If Tua is not willing to sign a reasonable contract.... Tag him and then trade him after the 2025 season.

Well you did bail on the wife challenge the other day, how about posting a photo (pls blur your face lol) so we can see if it's a case if body envy or not.

Who knows, maybe @circumstances will take a liking.
Thanks for the reminder. I actually think I have a photo of her here in my jacket pocket. Let me see if I.... Can.... Find....
