This post shows the lack of understanding of the Qb position relative to the field.

The best downfield thrower in the game doesn’t need to hit his target in stride every time, no Qb does if you were to watch all the reps.He does it better more consistently than anyone

I think it’s classic trolling at this point
Not only that... Hitting a Wide open WR downfield short is a much safer bet than trying to hit him perfectly in stride and overthrowing it.

Just trying to get a handle on the life experience that has lead to the conclusion that thought processes can't/don't get faster.

I am an industrial engineer who does a few different types of programming, machine tools, PLCs, a bit of Python, etc.

I can tell you unequivocally that I program circles around guys who haven't the experience that I have.

They may even be "smarter" and better overall programmers than I, but the simple fact that I have seen so many more problems and scenarios makes me much faster and able to do the same job with less, and less "buggy" code.

Not bragging here by any means, but the processing in my mind is usually several steps ahead of the keys or buttons I am physically pushing, kind of like a working "cache".

If you don't think that experience and dealing with diverse situations and problems allows one to become not only faster, but also more proficient, I say you are dead wrong, IMO.
Experience helps in lots of aspects of life. I was talking about the brain slowing down once it reaches it's peak... Someone else chimed in this thread and stated the brain reaches full maturity at 25..... I believe we stay sharp a long time... (As someone older I want to believe it is forever... LOL ) I do not accept the premise that once the brain is fully developed it will continue to process information faster.

One of my goals for this fall is to teach myself python.. I am old so in school we learned some Basic and Fortran... There is no practical use for those old dinosaurs now I can think of... (Old dated banking systems maybe??) I tossed a coin between C++ and Python.... Python won.

So as a hobby I have searched for apps and websites to learn Python... It is next on my list. I read that they studied and noticed the difference in the way people do math before and after they learn to code. I am not expecting to be much of a coder...(LOL) I just like the idea that my brain is still spongy enough to pick something new up.

Back to Tua....

We have all been let down and disappointed so many times as fans of this franchise. I opted to put a window on Tua when we drafted him. I looked at the rookie contract as a good guide. Figuring that virtually all of the improvement he would make as a professional player would be made before the end of the rookie deal. In the past I have made excuses for players... Blamed coaches... Blamed injuries... Blamed the system... But one by one QB's have leftt Miami in their mid to late 20's and the experience has been bad for the most part.

So we know Physically players peak in their mid 20's(27) and their brain is fully developed by the age of 25... Tua has already cleaned up his footwork and arm mechanics.... He has already put time in the gym to get stronger. He is already getting rid of the ball as fast as anyone in the league. All of which again leads me to think that his improvement, if any, will be negliable from here on out. This is why I said this might be about as good as it gets here.

When I was younger I could read 2-3 books a week and absorb them.... I find that I can still learn... But it takes a lot more effort at 50. I now have to read something more than once to be able to recall it.

Holy Guacamole.

The throw does not have to be perfect in stride.... But the throws from Tua are flat out ugly flailing ducks... Tyreek has to stop... turn and come back to the ball. With other great Qbs the wide receiver could speed up or slow down a fraction of a stride to adjust to the football.... Tyreek has to stop and turn and then run the other way to be able to make a play on the football. Tyreek has to play defense.... The throws are that short. Tyreek being the fastest man in the game has saved Tuas arse a LOT

That is not trolling... That is fact.

You need to post about the other side when Tyreek ran the wrong route or two and Tua rolled with it and was successful completing the play. :ffic:

I've never blocked anyone, but I might be ready to try that feature. Your endless arguments about neuron response times as you age, combined with statements that don't include recognition of situations based on experience in the profession really make me wonder how you perceive things in terms of your own environment.

Did you peak at 25 and never advance after that?

Tua has improved every year and is easily a top ten QB. If you don't see that and can't admit to that you are mistaken imo. Do you really think we should change QB every year when the QB doesn't win the Superbowl?

I forget who posted it earlier today, but I'm old and know programming. My brain isn't young, but I am a vastly better programmer than anyone under 30 in my world. I peaked at 55 in my running ability due to training and diet as I matured (5:28 mile, and 3:26 marathon that year). That's over 25. Life doesn't end at 25. Experience in life matters and can lead to greater things.

Please stop saying 25 is the peak of QB skills, and at that age no one will improve. Life isn't simple, competing in team sports isn't simple, and improving your own skills isn't simple.

This post was primarily in response to many posts you have done in the past few days. As I said, I've never blocked anyone and I don't want to, but if you continue to argue that no one can get better after being alive for just twenty five years I'll have to try the feature.
I really do not care if you block me. I am not going to change my views just to make you happy.

It is really a little arrogant of you to make a post like:

I do not like to block people, but if you do not start posting things I like, I am going to block you.

I can make it simple for you...

Sweet jesus life would be boring if we all just said the same crap about tua and how he is going to be the greatest..... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I think I will stick with my take.

Goodbye

Brother some words of advice. You can post without being an ass, be respectful, and not insult someone’s intelligence.

You ever thought that could be intentional ? I mean with how quick Tua has to make the throw and having to pretty much put it where you think the receiver is gonna be those throws are giving the receiver a shot at the ball rather then over throwing him for no shot at the ball .

Didn`t you say in one of your posts you actually like him ? Just wondering because if you did which I`m sure i saw in one of them somewhere why would you try to insult the guy ?
Waylon

I want Tua to succeed.... This is my team and I am a fan. That does not mean I cannot come to the conclusion that Tua is not going to continue to get better every year he plays in the NFL. I think he is close to peaking... Maybe he makes minor improvements this year... But he is about done getting better. it is one of the reasons why I do not think Tua deserves a new contract before his current one expires. It is one of the reasons I do not think Tua deserves 55 million a year. I think we should let him play this year out at 23 million and then tag him a season. If I am right and he does not make noticable improvements we avoid locking in for 5 or 6 years and having to eat a zillion dollars in cap money after Tua is gone. If I am wrong... and Tua is night and day better in 2 years time than he is today.. .bite the bullet and pay him whatever the new rate is. We control the rights to Tua... and as stated before I do not think Tua will sit out if he does not get a new contract.

I am sorry if we disagree. I backed up my stance and explained why I feel this way. People here are getting upset.

What happens when there is a season prediction thread around here and someone thinks we will regress? Heaven forbid the prediction is a losing season and missing the playoffs.

Are they called a troll then also? (Or stupid?) Will there be a jumping on when a couple of dozen people respond and you start to see posts that say things like... (For as long as you are still posting here?) veiled threats to newer members... Great morale booster!!!

Because if the answer to this is "yes" Then this is not so much a open discussion forum for the Dolphins so much as it is a cheerleading site.

I do not think it is intentional to have Tyreek come back and be forced to fight for the ball with a corner.

Designed plays like jump ball to the sideline or the back of the endzone when you target a 6 foot 3 wideout or the 6 foot 5 tight end... Yes the point is to let your guy go fight for the ball... Tyreek is not 6 foot 5 or 6 foot 3.... I do not believe anyone would ever design a play where the desired output was to have Tyreek outmuscle and outfight the corner for the football. That is a waste of his world class track speed.

Cali...

Good advice... But I think most of the posts here have been to make light of my take on tua... Calling my intelligence into question. I did not really see you make a post like this to them.

But not bad advice nonetheless.

This started because I had a different take on Tua and a new contract. The real reason there is friction is because people are upset with my take. I am sure if you wanted to go back and look you would see numerous examples of this.

My initial take on this was not: (Rough paraphrase)

"Hey Losers....

Here is my take on Tua, agree with it or eat sh8t and die."

If you feel that I stepped over a line or broke a rule I would welcome a PM from you and we could go over anything you noticed.

Trying to keep the peace and the conversation welcoming. No rules broken as of yet. Just some advice.
