For the recent NFL draft first round the Bears had the 1st pick, Commanders 2nd, Patriots 3rd, and Broncos 12th. Had any of those teams offered the Dolphins their pick for Tua my guess is the Dolphins would have gladly accepted the trade.
None of the QB’s in the 2024 draft are as good as Tua and therefore the Dolphins would not have had any interest in trading Tua for any of those QB’s.

LOL, your guess is terrible.

In the history of guesses, I'd rate your just below Irving Fisher's "Stocks have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau" 'guess' nine days before the Wall Street Crash!

Fun fact... since 2000 there have been 69 qbs drafted in the first round, not including the recent 2024 class. Only two of the 69 qbs can claim they have finished as league leader in passer rating and have also led the league in passing yards at any point in their career. Phillip River and Tua. Tua won the passer rating crown in his 3rd season and yards title in his 4th.

Experience helps in lots of aspects of life. I was talking about the brain slowing down once it reaches it's peak... Someone else chimed in this thread and stated the brain reaches full maturity at 25..... I believe we stay sharp a long time... (As someone older I want to believe it is forever... LOL ) I do not accept the premise that once the brain is fully developed it will continue to process information faster.

One of my goals for this fall is to teach myself python.. I am old so in school we learned some Basic and Fortran... There is no practical use for those old dinosaurs now I can think of... (Old dated banking systems maybe??) I tossed a coin between C++ and Python.... Python won.

So as a hobby I have searched for apps and websites to learn Python... It is next on my list. I read that they studied and noticed the difference in the way people do math before and after they learn to code. I am not expecting to be much of a coder...(LOL) I just like the idea that my brain is still spongy enough to pick something new up.

Back to Tua....

We have all been let down and disappointed so many times as fans of this franchise. I opted to put a window on Tua when we drafted him. I looked at the rookie contract as a good guide. Figuring that virtually all of the improvement he would make as a professional player would be made before the end of the rookie deal. In the past I have made excuses for players... Blamed coaches... Blamed injuries... Blamed the system... But one by one QB's have leftt Miami in their mid to late 20's and the experience has been bad for the most part.

So we know Physically players peak in their mid 20's(27) and their brain is fully developed by the age of 25... Tua has already cleaned up his footwork and arm mechanics.... He has already put time in the gym to get stronger. He is already getting rid of the ball as fast as anyone in the league. All of which again leads me to think that his improvement, if any, will be negliable from here on out. This is why I said this might be about as good as it gets here.

When I was younger I could read 2-3 books a week and absorb them.... I find that I can still learn... But it takes a lot more effort at 50. I now have to read something more than once to be able to recall it.
Fortran! Blast from the past...

That's all fine and dandy but he needs to start playing better against the good teams in the league. His performance against those teams last season were night and day compared to the other teams he played. The whole team has to play better but that includes him as well. He needs to have more pitches in his arsenal when those teams take away what they like to do.

I believe you are putting the cart before the horse.
For this coming season Tua is on the 5th year option of his rookie contract and due $23 million. There is at least a 50-50 chance that after this season plays out Dolphins coaching staff and management will be interested in developing a QB other than Tua.

Lol OK. Can't believe you thought anyone needed to read that post. Next time I run out of toilet paper I'll remember to print this post out and put it to the appropriate use.

@Induperator

This you?

Easy.... Tyreek Hill

How many times have we seen Tua throw a flailing duck well short of a wide open Tyreek and he comes back and fights the corner for the football. Hill is completing enough of those passes to make them a net gain for the offense... But if you do not admit that it is all Hill coming back to the ball and fighting for it.... Then you are showing that extreme bias..

Easily one of the worst posts of all time on Finheaven.
