C'mon, I mean obviously you can see the defender is putting himself in great position to defend that ball if Mahomes hits him in stride. This is just another example of the future GOAT seeing the situation and throwing the perfect pass for that situation. For real, Tua is the only QB that could possibly underthrow Hill right? 🤦‍♂️🤣

If they want Tua to be their QB they absolutely must do the same thing. If not, then don't re-sign him at all.

There's another side to this, and that's the player's side. Tua's agent is not going to set a precedent for future top-tier QBs to re-sign at a discount and lose millions of dollars.

Is the amount that Tua signs for going to impact how hard Dolphin fans should root for him and the team to be successful? Is a few million a year going to have a significant impact on the Dolphins' ability to field a SB caliber roster? IMO, the answer to both is no. Just pay that man his money and everyone can just focus on winning.
Please remember that in March of 2023 the Dolphins exercised their 5th year option for Tua to play this coming season. So, he is under contract , and if he leads the team to a good season a year from now the Dolphins can offer him a new contract . Or, if his performance is not good the Dolphins can move forward with a different quarterback. It's a win-win situation for the Dolphins.

They are not letting him become a FA nor will they tag him.

There's a third scenario you're missing. He plays well and leaves because he is a free agent and someone offers him much more money. Then you watch him be successful elsewhere while you "move on" with 15 scrubs like Cleo Lemon, Daunte Culpepper and Chad Henne

Tua's had 4-years as a Dolphin , including a loaded roster last season, and was not able to lead the team to any playoff victories. If he plays the 2024 season on the 5th year option of his rookie contract I expect there is at least a 50-50 chance his performance is mediocre and the team will try a different QB for 2025.

Loaded roster? They were down 3-4 olinemen all year and literally started multiple players on defense that didn’t play a snap all season and weren’t even on teams….

He's 0-1 in the playoffs and I expect the NFL's passing leader won't disappoint anyone except those wanting a down year

"including a loaded roster"

Why is it that haters like you intentionally ignore that the team was ravaged by injuries at the end of last year, especially the OL?

Oh wait, we know why.

So I've been preparing, where is this new deal?

Any updates or is this really gonna drag on for ever
It would be helpful if the Dolphins issued a statement that for the 2024 season the team exercised the 5th year option of Tua's rookie contract and and that any discussion of a new contract should happen after the conclusion of the 2024 season.
