LMAO...

Fine be that way.... You knew what I meant...

Sub in other names if you like.

Lamar Jackson
Mahomes
Burrow
Herbert
Watson
Allen
Russell Wilson

The AFC is absolutely stacked with talent at the QB position

So it does not have to be that he beats Burrow in a playoff game in January.... I used Burrow because they are about the same age and now Tua wants at least as much as what Burrow is making. The Burrow name and example is pretty valid though

To get to a superbowl Tua will have to beat at least 2 of these guys... Even if we have homefield advantage and the bye.

It all comes back to what Rick Flair said: "If you want to be the man, you need to beat the man."

Simple as that.

Tua thinks he is worth 55+ million... I say to him... Prove it. Go beat the man.
I can agree with that. But Tua doesn't have to beat teams in the playoffs, the Dolphins do. Burrow, Mahomes, Jackson and the likes don't win playoff games on their own. Tua has to up his game, no doubt, but so do the Dolphins.

Yes, I watch offense and defense. What matters is the scoreboard at the end of the game.
Remember that a pass happy offensive strategy is not new to college or pro football. It produces big yardage number stats for the QB and receivers , but not consistent winning of games.
I believe the most effective offensive game strategy is ball control with a near equal balance of running and pass plays, including runs by the QB.

Dolphins had the 6th most rushing yards in the league last season.

No team had more rushing TDs.

No team had more Yards Per Carry.

Your takes seem spectacularly ill-informed.

We gotta move on at some point past the Flores thing.

I think he got a raw deal here. He came here to win and realised his owner was tanking.

And now that he is gone people use his won and loss record against him. It is not exactly fair. He took over one of the worst teams in football where the owner was tanking.. and he made us a respectable football club.

He was not the right guy for Tua though...

He is gone...
It has been a few years
Why are we beating on this dead horse???

Let it go people.

By your standards, Flores wasn't very good at it either. And the last sentence seems to make your stance quite clear. You want a running QB, and Tua is not that.

Nope...

Until a Qb wins in the post season.... They are considered something less. Until they win a ring they are again considered something less.

I get what you are saying about the whole team... But people look at QB's and ask how many rings do they have? What is their record in the playoffs?

That is just the way it is.

No, you do. How many QB's win a SB without the team they have around them? How many SB's does Brady win without those defenses, or Mahomes, Montana. The team makes all the difference. A QB can't be clutch if his defense doesn't give him a chance to be. Without competent playmakers on offense, he is useless. Just my opinion. Not saying Tua doesn't have to play better in tough games though.

no one thinks less of Dan Marino

Look at it after the fact.

Nobody talks about the defenses of Brady's superbowl victories. They do not mention those other players. Nope it is just: "Tom Brady, 7 time superbowl winner." However the Fk many he has won.

What matters is putting asses in seats.

Flo didn't even run the team at the end of the year. He quit on his coaches who had to pick up the slack.

Takes no talent to actually give a damn

We all love Dan Marino...

Many do not consider him the greatest QB of all time because there was no post season success...

Other QB's won multiple rings.
Marino did not.

So a lot of people rank Marino differently because he did not win a superbowl. Spend some time googling articles about the best QB's of all time... You will see marino get mentioned and then it will be mentioned that he did not win a ring....(And why he cannot be at the top of an all time list.)

I like Steve Young as an example. How many playoff games did he win as a buc?

Yeah I understand that. I'm just saying I disagree with that sentiment. It shouldn't be that way. I still cringe when I see the "Tua is 6-0 against the Patriots".....no, the Dolphins are 6-0 against the Patriots since Tua got here.

Lol @ a QB playing against another QB.

I agree, just making the playoffs is not success. You need to progress in the playoffs, which I believe McD will do....but if he doesn't, that is not good enough, I agree. The big difference I see between the two is Flores NEVER would have had this roster to flourish with, plain and simple. McD is attracting this talent to Miami, which I believe, in turn will make him successful. Hopefully very soon! Players did not want to go to Miami when Flores was here, which would have made it very difficult to field a potential SB roster.
Fair point. To what extent those players can overcome shortfalls in gameday coach/coordinator performance is hard to pin down, but this roster should at least get some playoff wins, McD can't continue to throw his best at good teams for it to fall flat.

False equivalency. QBs don't beat each other. Media BS, that's all that is.

True just making it into the playoffs isn`t enough but there`s a reason this team hasn`t progressed in the playoff . Most see it , a few call it an excuse . Flores didn`t know how to run a offense and refused to hire or couldn`t hire people that did . The only thing Flores could have done with this offense was sit back and let it do it`s thing and we all know he wouldn`t have been able to do even that .
