As good coach u adapt to strength off ur qb. Dak would be fine in Miami. Only problem I have w dak. I don't know if he Would win SB in Miami. We probably win playoff game w him.

Does anyone think Tua is better than Dan? I personally don't. They have many of the same skills but Marino had a much more talented arm. He was not only capable of making more throws, he was capable of using more planes to make those throws.
Dan was unable to win because aside from a few players we were unable to surround him with enough talent. If Tua takes too much money, we'll be in the same situation. Unfortunately, he's still our best option at QB if he demands that type of coin until we can draft a successor.

I’m sure McDaniel could adapt and change the system but there’s no guarantee it’s as effective. It also means almost an entire personal change especially on the offensive line. Hill and waddle would be wasted so might as well trade them.
As for playoffs he’s 2-5 in an extremely weak NFC while playing with maybe the best oline in football over that period,an elite runningback and has had an elite wideout at all times between Dez Bryant, amari Cooper and Ceedee at all times. For his first few seasons also had Witten who is maybe the 2nd most complete tight end ever. Not sure why you think any of that translates into a playoff win.
No one has ever stated that Tua is a better QB than Marino was. As far as throwing the ball was concerned, there has never been a QB with a better arm and quicker release than Marino.
Yet Marino has been retired for 24 years and Tua is the best QB the Dolphins have had since Marino was the Dolphins QB. For all those posters who want to trade Tua or just let him walk in free agency. I hope they are all going to be happy when it takes another 20 years to find a QB to replace Tua.
Sometimes I think that the anti-Tua crowd have forgotten how many bad QB’s we had to watch play for the Dolphins before Tua finally showed up.
They are looking for a overnight Messiah but have no clue who's available
Tua’s release is actually slightly faster but yeah Tua has a slingshot compared to Dan’s .50 cal for arm strength.

If Grier’s plan is to force Tua out so Miami can go with a swap meet QB, it’s working.
Tua has to release the ball quickly because his offensive line doesn’t give him a lot of time to scan the field. McDaniel recognizes that Tua has the ability to get the ball out fast and realizes that that is a great attribute considering the weakness of the offensive line in pass protection.
Marino for most of his career played behind the best pass blocking offensive line in the NFL. So the offense wasn’t forced to have a quick passing game. Marino had the time to scan the field on most passing plays and once he saw the open receiver his release in delivering the pass was extremely fast.

Agree strongly. I can't name a realistic qb I would want to watch in Miami besides Tua. Hate the idea of tear it all down again and start all over.
Russell Wilson? Fields? Mike White? I can't bear the thought of any of them over Tua. Even Dak seems like a downgrade. And to be a stop gap qb until we draft another in the coming years? Ugh...Please just pay Tua ffs.
