its good to see this all sorted, even if Ross had to bend over backwards to get it done and in doing so god a bad deal for himself. Im glad to see the team tied down long term, I was very open that I thought anything could happen with no stadium deal once Ross was gone, but it didn't mean I wanted it to, simply thought due to certain factors it was dangerous not having a stadium contract in place.

Hope Ross throws even more money at this and turns it into a great stadium. Didn't think the local politicians were ever particularly helpful (especially considering the stadium was supposec to be the biggest single taxpayer in the area) but I suppose that's all due to Marlins bull**** I don't really understand.

Great day to be a Dolphins fan. So construction will start in the next few weeks, phase one will be done before the start of the 2015 season and the entire project completed before the start of the 2016 season.

I know there is a video floating around from a few years back of what was being proposed but it will be really interesting to see what the final architectural/engineering drawings look like that are approved by the Miami Dolphins. I'm looking forward to this press conference.

Also, I know they are moving seats closer to the field, but are they rearranging any of the other seats?

Very nice. I'm glad this was approved.

Also worth noting that the payments the city would have to make to the Dolphins for the special events aren't payable until the year 2025. If we hosted a Super Bowl and Miami-Dade had to chip in $4 million, that payment wont be made until 2025 at the earliest.

thats pretty. reminds me of a european stadium for some reason

Minus the solar panels

Man, I am excited about this. I drive by the stadium all the time and just thinking of the construction and the completed project gets me all giddy. Hopefully these renovations bring a renewed sense of excitement within the community and the team itself and they string together some great seasons to come. Good day to be a dolfan.

ross must be miffed that he offered to pay for the entire thing and 4 people still voted no lol i don't get that at all, if Miami doesn't benefit financially through superbowls they dont pay a penny. I work for a politician... but youv gotta hate politicians! Or well most of them

7-4 vote on even this deal would suggest hundreds of millions for a new stadium was completely off the table. Unless those people were voting no because they wanted a new stadium?

Anyway, what could they possibly be starting on now that won't be finished till 2015?

I am not sure what the schedule is for the renovations, though I think they will probably have some sort of press conference to let us know. But what has been reported is that part of it will be completed in time for the 2015 season and the entire project will be completed just before the start of the 2016 season.
