From what I know, which I will admit might be incorrect, at this point in the season he will only be eligible for IR.

how long does it take for rhinosinusitis to be rehabilitated on proper meds? This is bothering my weight-lifting routine...FinFanGirl said:No problem - im an athletic trainer -- so hit me up with any sports med injury and i can pretty much explain it to you and give you a time frame for recovery. Also Bonedoc is a good source...

FinFanGirl said:First off -- An acl cannot be strained -- only muscles can be strained.... An ACL can be sprained and this is = to a tear. We grade strains 1 = microtrauma, 2= a partial tear 3= complete rupture. An ACL sprain can depending on the degree can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months to heal...
i thought it was acute, but the duration is not confidence-inspiring. Let's just call it acute.FinFanGirl said:is it acute or chronic??
Vickerson is not eligible for PUP. Once he participates in training camp practices that option is out. He would have had to be placed on PUP at the beginning of camp and remained there the entire time to be eligible to go on it to start the regular season. The only two choices we have with KV is carry him on the 53 man roster until he heals or place him on IR and lose him for the season. Although it is not a realistic option, we could also reach an injury settlement, waive him and sign him to the Practice Squad if he clears waivers. He has too much upside and potential to risk that, just saying that, technically, I believe we have that option.texasPHINSfan said:yeah, ^^ that.
Vickerson is a project anyway and would not offer a lot of contribution this year anyway. put him on the PUP and let us save that roster spot where we can use it.
dammit! that sucks. thanks for the info though...FinFanGirl said:Acute Up to four weeks. Consider acute bacterial rhinosinusitis if symptoms worsen after five days, if symptoms persist for 10 days or with symptoms out of proportion to those typically associated with viral infection.
Subacute Four to <12 weeks Same Complete resolution after effective medical therapy.
Recurrent acute Four or more episodes per year with each episode of at least seven days' duration; absence of intervening signs and symptoms
Chronic 12 weeks or more Same Facial pain/pressure does not constitute a suggestive history in the absence of other nasal signs and symptoms

any idea what would cause the pain in my neck when weightlifting with rhinosinusitis? I get a rush of blood there that feels like a migraine. side effect of the rhinus?
damn... you are better than military doctors. (although i don't know if that's much of a compliment as an "...... oh." kinda thing). thanks again. back to the damn meds...FinFanGirl said:what kind of pain.. could be from the sinus pressure it affects your skull and the muscles surrounding it. headaches are a definite side affect. i would stay away from inclined bench type things and sit ups.. oh and no problem!

Chad? is that you?!BlitPhinFan said:Dang... good to have you with us. I am enjoying your insight on these matters. I personally always ignored the time frame I was given for injuries, since I was always released from them early. I do still have one nagging injury that comes back to bite me though.
From what my doctor told me, it is "rigours(sp)" and can not be corrected. From what I understand my left shoulder will continue to crack, creak and so forth. I can live with that. But what I don't understand is the amount of pain I now feel in that shoulder from exstensive use. Granted it only lasts about an hour after extreme use.. but it is still very bothersome.
I have never injured my left shoulder, I am right handed so I never threw it out pitching. I am at a loss as o what is tuelty wrong.
Sorry for my long rant but, I have never found any answers and I am hoping you can lead me in the right direciton.
