My thoughts excatly, It's close enough for me, I'm not going to complain about 200 pts...You're talking about a low first and a mid first.

200 points is a mid 3rd rounder!

For the thousandth time, the Vikes can give their deal elsewhere. They are in the driver seat in some ways. We've got to take the fair value anyway we can get it.

Unless of course if Miami has intentions of drafting the guy they seem to want so bad.

Miami could very well want Edward's with no intentions of a smokescreen.

ESPN was saying today Jones may not make it into the late 1st. Apparently there are a few teams looking at him in the mid 1st. Boomer said today that some draft "experts" are hearing rumblings of him going in the top 12. So he may not even be there at #18 to REACH for.

I agree mark clayton in my opinion is the best wr in the draft...but for our system im not sure how well he would do...

Why's that? He's got awesome speed which is something we need. He's got sure hands and runs good routes. I think Clayton is the total package and would give us better value at 18 than we'd get with Edwards at 2. The only knock on him is size but we've got enough of that with Booker and McMichael. Clayton would be a great fit in our offence.

Hey Hysterikill......

HysterikiLL's 2005 Final Big Board
(Based on my opinion of talent in this class)
1. 97.9 Ronnie Brown - RB, Auburn
2. 96.9 Braylon Edwards - WR, Michigan
3. 96.0 Alex Smith - QB, Utah
4. 94.3 Pac-Man Jones - CB, West Virginia
5. 93.9 Mike Williams - WR, USC
6. 93.9 Aaron Rodgers - QB, California
7. 93.4 Cedric Benson - RB, Texas
8. 91.6 Erasmus James - DE, Wisconsin
9. 90.8 Alex Barron - OT, Florida State
10. 90.2 Shawne Merriman - DE, Maryland

Does this mean on your draft board Caddy is below a 90.2????
I have Caddy at an even 90. Just my opinion...I think he'll get beat up at the NFL level unless he adds more bulk. :D

Yeah. The market might favor the Vikings. It's gonna be a mean game of poker, where the winner's gonna take all.

This will be more than a two handed game....there's more players going to join the fun, wait and see. The 49ers are trying to gain the upper hand...but it's not going to work....they can only select one player...that leaves the game open for the Dolphins...at the worst the Dolphins keep the pick and select Edwards...a playmaker the Dolphins need....at the best....the Dolphins bluff and call, add some picks and still place themselves in a position to acquire a player who will start....it's a no lose situation.

I think I like Mike Williams more then Edwards. More consistant. Plus awesome around the endzone!

I read somewhere that Cadillac is up to 217 pounds. By July, he should be at 220. That's plenty big enough. Williams has that rare vision that's vital in the NFL. At #7 he would be the perfect addition.

We could spend #18 on Matt Jones and then our offense would get an incredible boost.

Have you all noticed how far Elton Brown and Ernest Shazor have fallen on Mel Kiper's mock draft? Kiper has Brown, IMO the draft's best run blocker, going in the fourth round. that's ridiculous. The guy is first round talent. Can someone tell me why Mel has him rated so low?

I know Shazor didn't run well at the combine, but the guy is a great football player. We should be able to get him in the third round.

One other quick note on Kiper's mock draft - Ben Wilkerson isn't in the top four rounds. That's ridiculous.

We pull off the trade with Minnesota (for 7, 18 and 80), I go:

1(7) Cadillac Williams, RB
1(18) Matt Jones, WR
3(70) Mike Patterson, DT
3(80) Andrew Walter, QB
4(104) Elton Brown, G
5(138) Ben Wilkerson, C

That would be great. I just don't see Brown or Wilkerson falling that far. Too much talent there.

200 points is usually ignored on the draft value chart.

So it's like a tip... Here Vikes keep the change...? We don't want the 3rd round pick?

Refer to the Jets/Bears trade of 03(400 point difference yet considered more or less even, usually trading down team takes the loss value wise). It's a guideline not a rule book...

So the team trading up thinks they are getting a deal... Sound right. I'll agree with you...
