It may be time for Mr. Ross to sell the team so we can get someone in here to get this team and its management going in the right direction.

Ross isn't going to sell this team. Nobody is going to willingly sell the cash cow that is an NFL franchise.

The smart thing to do would to hand off football responsibilities to another person. His hire of Bill Parcells was a good idea in principle but it didn't work because Parcells installed archaic philosophy and poor personnel (Jeff Ireland included). I'm afraid that Ross doesn't know a good person to hire however, since the rumors mill is swirling that top administrative brass want out (Dawn Aponte mainly, but I personally hope Aponte gets the **** out of here like she wants)

The day Jeff Ireland gets fired is the day that change is officially arrived. In the meantime, firing Sherman is the right move, as the guy was a HORRIBLE game planner and play caller.

I recall people being similarly happy when we canned Henning.

Henning and Sherman kind of look the same if you squint.

Works with Henne and Tannehill too.

Don't try it with Philbin and Sparano though. One is more portly and liked to run the ball. The other is lanky, duplicitous, and pretends to run the ball.

My concern is if the organization keeps having sub par seasons how many Dolphin fans will be left that want to spend there hard earned money on an organization that doesn't have a clue?

MONEY?!?!?! Money I can make more off, my friend. Now TIME… I will never get back all the hours wasted on this sorry excuse for a football team.

My apologies for sounding like a fair-weather fan, but after those last two games and the unbelievably PATHETIC showing by pretty much the entire team… that's how I'm feeling.

I wasted precious TIME that I can never get back. So, yes, this franchise is suffering from an eroding fan-base and it IS a very legitimate concern for them (or should be - maybe Ireland has EVERYONE in the Dolphins front office drinking the Kool-Aide and they just don't care).

It's going to take a major attendance and profit drought for a long period of time for that sort of ownership change to be made - i.e. the Jaguars or the Browns with Shad Khan and Jimmy Haslam, but even that's not a guarantee. Here's a factoid for you: William Clay Ford has owned the Lions for 50 years and their record has been woeful.

I just don't want to have an ownership like any of those teams. I think if season ticket sales a major hit this year I think the signal will be sent loud and clear.

Thats awsome..lol

Meh.

He wasn't the biggest problem and firing him -- while a good move in and of itself -- meant Philbin was more likely to keep his job, which isn't good news.

Ross should have cleaned house. The problem is that he chose Philbin, and refuses to admit that he made a big mistake. Firing Sherman does nothing if Philbin and Ireland are still there.

My option is not there. As far as I'm concerned that is a half assed fix. Ireland is still there and he needs to be gone for sure.

Let's see the OL sucked which limits the plays your are able to call to protect your QB and the ball, OL set records for sacks and fewest rushing yds in a game, big distraction during bye week with bullygate, investigators conducting interviews while trying to put game plan in, The D forgot how to stop the run, no LB play and couldn't get off the field on 3rd and long...

We can be a better team with no firings, all we need to do is fix the OL, upgrade the RB position and figure out a way to fix the LB position....what does the OC change will do? it can slow down RT development he may have to learn a new system, looks like a guy who never called plays before will be calling plays, so not sure how that will turn out, Philbin doesn't trust Ross (I've seen what happens when a coach loses trust with the owner and GM) The players get to point the finger at the outgoing OC and not take responsibility for their failing

One thing I learned as a football fan is plays don't always work which means nobody likes their OC, if you poll every team in the NFL, fans will have something to complain about with the play calling, so changing the OC will not stop your criticism of the play calling......so in other words we have gained nothing and may have taken a step back.....and the sad thing about this is everyone is happy about it.....I hate doing something just to say you did something.....fix the problem!!!!

I vote, mistake we need better players....

I'm really none of the above. I saw it coming a while ago and just hoped he would crap the bed this season. Hopes, funny huh.

They've basically done as little as possible to rectify this situation.

There were so many facets of demise for this team it hardly lays solely at Sherman's feet alone. Does he deserve to be fired? Hell yeah! But let's keep making the moves.

Philbin dragging his feet on this only tells me his loyalty to his guys is more important than the success of this franchise.

Coyle needs to go. The QB coach needs to go. Both offensive and defensive line coaches need to go. LB coaches need to go.

Yes.. Ireland has been here long enough. He needs to go.

Yet also Philbin needs to go.

This team has taken on his character. He coaches not to lose, and the team plays like it. Philbin may be a high character guy, but this is a brutal game. He doesn't have to lead like a rabid wolverine, but he certainly has to instill that type of mindset into this team.

The Incognito/Martin affair I lay at the hands of the coaching staff. All offensive coaches. I find it hard to believe none of them knew anything. The fact this organization was dragged down into the realm of racial TMZ fodder during the course of the season would warrant an firing in most professions.

Sherman was the most obvious move. I am praying it's not the last.
