Waanstedt is our biggest weakness!

No....no,this is unique.....you see the way he used the original Dutch spelling of Dave's name....Haven't seen that before.

Dude that's the funniest thing I've read on here since I joined.

:roflmao:

I was listening to Kim Bokamper this A.M. and he was relating a recent example of the core of Wannstedt's deficiencies as a coach.

Randy Mcmichael was dropping passes and generally playing sloppy in practice yesterday. Does Wanny or any of his coaches hold him accountable, get in his grill, etc? Answer: NO. He did nothing. Can you imagine Shula doing nothing when A talented player is underperforming? Shoot, even Wanny's mentor J.J. would have been all over him.

Then he wonders why we get too many penalties and lose focus in critical situations, like Mcmichael missing his assignment last year against N.E. that resulted in the big sack/fumble that changed the game.

We might agree, but do we really have to hear it every 5 god damn seconds. It gets annoying after a while. The 2 constants on this board were always Jay bashing and Wanny Bashing. JUST SHUT UP ALREADY, WE KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY!!!
hey man I think that language is getting to be a little to much there. While we are getting tired of hearing the same things over and over again there is no need for that kind of language and I would a prreciate it if you would stop using it.

And Randy would still be on the field for you after all your ranting and raving..so what's the difference? You won't bench him..

Belichick sends guys on a lap whenever they screw up. Just the other day, he sent "Big Cat" Williams on a lap for jumping offsides. The funny thing is, the crowd was cheering him as he passed by the stands (I was there). They were clueless.

Parcells had a different style. He wasn't afraid to make an even bigger spectacle if a player screwed up. I remember a receiver running with his head down and after the play was over, Parcells yells from across the field "Ok, if this was real you would have had your head taken off! So I'm going to pretend this is real, hit the trainer's room!" The receiver was done for the day.

NFL head coaches can't be a players coach. Bottom line. Steve DeOssie once said about Parcells "I hated him every day, except Sunday".

When your job is football and you practice nearly everyday, you will have some off practices. If you coach jumps in your face everytime you do, you lose respect for him in that regard, as it's not possible for most players to practice perfect everyday.

It's amazing to me that you think that Wanny jumping in McMike's grill would make him a better coach. Half these players are so immature that they can't handle anythnig other than a pat on the back. They do not live in the real world and most of them do not have the mental toughness you'd think they have.

Wanny will appear to be a much better coach when our players start making the routine plays at their position.

I didnt say anything wrong, all I said was God Damned. God Damned isnt that bad. At least I didn't make my joke about Jesus sucking at hockey because he always gets nailed to the boards.

That might have been overboard, maybe..

I completely disagree. Its all about accountablility. If a player isnt concentrating then you let him know that his mistakes are not going unnoticed. Maybe not drill sergent style but you definately let him know he isnt pulling his weight and that there are consequences for not trying hard enough. And, if all a player can handle is a pat on the back then cut him...because eventually he'll end up failing drug tests and quit in the middle of his contract.

Actually, G-D is more offensive to some people than F**K or motherf***er. But I agree that none of them have a place on this board.

You could also let him continue to screw up until the second preseason game and then tell him that Lee is starting. See if that wakes him up.

I believe there was post where the mods have addressed this. As much I like talking Dolphins football I will just quit coming here. This is crazy there is no need to use language like that. To me that is no different than putting porn on here. I mean using curse words is just lack of english and if you have to absolutely use it then a least blot it out. Kids do get on here and check this website. They are fans to that enjoy talking football although they may not know as much as others.

I have to say this is very well said and I agree 110%... post of the year... The key is the last line: "when our players start making the routine plays at their position." (Wanny will look much better).. And those players I assume you mean more on the offensive side of the ball: o-line and d-thompson and *cough* the qb position..

I question Wanny's ability as a head coach just as much as the next guy but if this was Wanny's first coaching stint I dont think people would be calling for his head with a passion all the time. I think his history with the Bears is what makes people think Wanny is inept as a head coach so easy while putting none of the onus on the players..

Im thinking that our biggest off-season move was to strip DW of his GM duties so he can just focus on being a coach and Im hoping that he has a breakthru year in 2004.

Theres a lot of players on that team especially on defense that want to win for Wanny and believe in him... i'll end by saying the second biggest move of the off-season was making Rick Speilman the GM hes made some brilliant moves for his first off-season and he's been porked over a couple of times too, but he still keeps his wits... 5 years Chambers yeeeeeaa!!

Thats mah ramble and my .02 ..

Peace
