Wale news from SoCal

He is now saying that the Redskins offered a 1st round pick and Miami countered asking for Samuels straight up for Wale. Says he has 2 east coast reports.

I doubt the rumor is true, but if it is, I guess it would mean that the Dolphins aren't confident in Wade Smith. I personally would be surprised if the Dolphins would rather have Samuels than a first round pick because I think we have a lot of potential at both tackle positions.

Samuels, Chris
Salary History
2000 193000.00
2001 375000.00
2002 375000.00
2003 625000.00
2004 5,132,000.00
2005 6025000.00
2006 7702425.00

This guy's salary would eat up the rest of our cap room by himself.

I don't doubt that Rosenhaus is asking for a $15 million signing bonus and the Dolphins want to pay $10. $12.5 is the middle. 12.5/6=$2.083 Seems kinda high unless the first three or four years are close to minimum. But then KGB did get $13 or $13.250 million last year.

wow nice facts wit Samuels salary...kinda ends all hope of gettin him, no way hell sign wit us...atleast highly unlikley.

Getting a stud like Samuels would be great for us. Great OL are hard to come by, and (I know this'll cause controversy) Wale is a product of the system. Remember Trace Armstrong?? He did nothing after he left here. I say "Rick, Grab Samuels and at least a #4".

Hmmmmmmmmm...........
LT Samuels
LG James
C McKinney
RG Carey
RT Smith

RW would cream over that! He'd have a great year.

Go Fins!!

I stopped listening to 690 because of The Saw! I really don't like him at all!

Hacksaw on XtraSports 690 here in SoCal is reporting that Miami and Washington are talking trade for Wale. He reports that Wale wants a $15mil signing bonus on a 6 year contract. And finally, he says Miami wants starting LT Chris Samuels in any deal.

Please, don't shoot the messenger...

Please don't ever use Crack-pipe as a source. I've caught this guy in so many lies it's not even funny. Just this year he broke one of his "just off the sportswire updates" about Ogun being traded to the Bears; the major problem with this was A) the story had already broken...FOUR DAYS EARLIERS and B) He said Miami was talking about swapping their 2nd round pick this year in the deal...the only problem there was Miami had already traded that pick AND their 2nd rounder next year!!!

He also reported that the Dolphins' players were up in arms about Seau's "f*g" comments and that the PLAYERS were calling for him to be disciplined! Seriously, do you thing any of them DON'T use that term in the locker room and that they would then turn around and call for the head of one of the team leaders?

Crack-pipe is an idiot savant and every time I listen to him I find that I'm a little dumber than I was before his show started. :shakeno:

is mcintosh suppose to even start,he was paid a good amount.and i suppose hell start at either position that carey doesnt go on, get jerman out of the starting position.

Trace only played on third downs at the end in Miami. When he got to Oakland, they made him an every-down player at 36 years of age. That's what did Trace in. He tore his ACL(?) early in 2001 as well.

Samuels would be a great addition to the OL. He would make us very good, very quickly. But his contract makes things tough without some kind of restructure.

I still don't think it's going to happen; and I'd rather get draft picks insted.

That's screwed up...

I personally stop listening to Hacksaw since that one day when he tried to convince me that he was my mother.

If this rumor is true I think Samuels would be way better than a draft pick. He is a proven pro bowler and I would love to have him on this team. Plus he is only 26 so he is still plenty young.
