Walker: Hickey received offers to trade down at 19 but wanted to stay to pick James

And there's your proof fire this garbage ass gm...

Weren't you the one banging the table for a tackle just a few weeks ago?

the thought that an offensive tackle doesnt validate a top 20 pick especially coming after a season where we gave up 58 sacks had on their last leg tackles carrying us thru the meat of our schedule and guys who couldn't get to things in space any longer and no depth behind them even and on top of it all there are offensive tackles that carry top 20 worthy bpa grades as prospects period is assanine...

plain assanine...

If it is so then Hickey is pretty dumb. Carolina needed an OT worse than us and they still chose BPA.

Yeah I was...but god dang don't reach that much out of need...tha was a dope decision he could have had James at 27 unless he thought zona at 20 would...

i know the board...this team ****ed it up royally yet again...doubt he's done

HAHA at the Do you miss me yet? Ireland sucks ballz! He would have traded half the draft to move up in the draft and still picked James.

The Saints traded up right after... How anyone can even try to think this isn't a self-evident truth is staggering.

Okay lets say he WOULDNT be there in the 2nd or 3rd. We could have still had him with the 26th pick (assuming the Browns traded with us) and had a 3rd round pick to spare. This is what makes this move so stupid

If we win 11 games with James starting every game i don't care where he was drafted he's a very good plug in starter. 1st round grade too. Dint give me that 3rd round stuff. Go look up mocks the lowest he was going was 40

This "garbage ass" GM is doing whatever he can to keep the QB upright that maybe he can gain some consistency and actually develop into a franchise QB.

if you have conviction on a player, pull the damn trigger. don't get cute and trade down. if you don't have conviction on a player, trade the hell down.

26th pick. Sounds like the MLB draft.

We would have won 11 games last year with just a serviceable o line.

I've never seen him as a 3rd rounder. Who said that?

Oh you mean Chad Henne 2.0? Mr. I can't throw a deep ball? Smh, we had a chance of getting a REAL QB! He took Tannehills team in the SEC with his same weapons and put them in CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENTION.

Yeah he overdrafts when he could have traded out and still got a guy at tackle and signs old and injured in free agency...he's great...about as smart as you are
