Figured I would try to talk about something different from the usual "suck for Luck" and "Fire everyone" stuff.

Would you guys like to have the Marshall trade back.
In light of his recently discovered personality disorder. (this is actually a big deal IMO and if it is an accurate diagnosis I am pretty surprised that he has been able to make it this far in life no offense to him).
In light of his solid though not outstanding numbers in 2010.
In light of his penchant for not making the difficult touchdown catch since his arrival in Miami.
In light of the fact that he probably affects the offense in ways beyond his numbers. (FWIW we were 1-1 in his absence last year a big win in Oakland and an Anemic loss to Cleveland)

We used the two 2nd round picks to get him.
46th pick of 2011. Ultimetely used on Orlando Franklin by Denver.
43rd pick of 2010 Ultimately used by Baltimore via Denver on Sergio Kindle.

I have thought about this and probably would have preferred to have those pick back.
Thoughts?

I will say that Marshal does look better this year than last.

He has made some good catches so far and that one catch where he pushed the defender 5 yards into the EZ was great.

BUT

He is still dropping clutch catches and there are still some plays that it seems he just quits half way through the play.

He still has some what of an attitide problem. Getting fustrated and running into the cleveland defender just because he was shutting Marshall down is just immature.. and it cost us a penalty....

two 2nds and soon to be two losing seasons. No the fact that he isnt' helping our team win tells me it wasn't worth it. You pay 2 2nds for someone you expect them to be the piece that gets you into the playoffs.

I'll take the picks back. Marshall hasn't helped us WIN and he isn't worth top-dollar. He hasn't done much running after the catch as advertised either. People will say that Henne isn't accurate but aren't you guys tired of seeing his one move and fall down act?

A fine notion, but the wrong player. I said so at the time.

Not that there's much evidence to suggest they would have done any better with those picks. If they had traded up for a QB in last year's draft Hyde reported it would have been Locker, anyway, which makes me want to gag.

You say it like this topic wasnt discussed ad nauseum during the offseason.

Yes he was...Think about it...Would you trade Merling and Pat White for Brandon Marshall?

I'd prefer the picks if we drafted well in the second, which we don't so great trade. Plus look at our WR core before marshall, LOLOL

Take a good look at this team and you will see that this team was alot farther away from the playoffs. Those 2 2nd round picks that could have easily been recooped through trading in draft picks alone.

BM was worth one 2nd round pick not 2
with the amount of balls he catches
he should have scored more touchdowns last year
he is just not explosive enough to warrant two 2nds
Yeah he is a big tough guy to bring down but then you add his character issues
this was a fail IMO you can get guys like him in free agency and give up nothing..

I still find it funny that people complain about Marshall, when for the 10 years before we had him, it was always complaints about not having a #1 receiver.

Wildbill was on to something though
that was the type of move you make if you are a real contending team
the idea was get henne a big target to throw to
keep drives alive and to out muscle the smaller defensive backs..
You do this move if your team is solid already
this is not the move to make
when you got holes in your secondary and offensive line..
