For me it's because he just plays badly.
When Tannehill got hurt in Buffalo, Moore came in and went 2 for 6 with 2 interceptions and a fumble. Six plays and he completed the same amount of passes to Buffalo as he did to Miami. Even Pat Devlin can do better than that.
The bonus is saving $5 million which coud be used on a player that can actually help the team win
I'm still wondering why we didn't cut him last yr, why carry 3 QB on a team with no OL and weak RB.....Devlin can lose just as well as Moore did.....
that $5 million could be the difference in getting a stud vs. a stop-gap like maybe Alex Mack instead of Wade SmithWhat player can we get now that we couldn't get by cutting Matt Moore? There isn't anybody. So why would you risk Pat Devlin if Tanne went down? Moore has shown he can win games- Buffalo was an outlier and not the constant. Forget Buffalo.
Draft someone you might think? Why would you waste that draft pick on a qb when we have a qb but have bigger needs elsewhere.
Also, Moore is helping us win now. Every young qb needs a guy like Moore. Tanne had very little qb experience in college and now only two years in the pros. All of that experience is with the same guy- Sherman. Matt will be very important on helping Tanne progress.
Like it or not people on this forum need to recognize the Fins are all in on Tannehill as their guy now. Moore is a person on this team that helps Tannehill play better. He will stay. After this year we can expect him to take a pay cut or go elsewhere.
Honestly, we should be happy we have depth at this position.

Bottom line for me: Matt Moore's job is to come off the bench and play well. If he can't do his job, he shouldn't be here for any price.
If so they will lose the fan base. Cutting Moore with the OL in absolute shambles, is sending the message to the fan base, that we are going into a complete rebuild and won't be trying to be competitive this year. I can't imagine a worse move than to cut one of the leaders in the locker room, and a very valuable talent, after seeing the beating Ryan took last year, and seeing the OL is much worse shape now than it was last year. That would be stupid.
In a word- yes. hard to imagine that he would do worseHow? How that $5 mil do that. He wouldn't cost $25 mil this year...he wouldn't cost $20 mil. You would have a really good argument if we were in cap hell, but we're not.
Yes, Moore did bad vs the bills. The entire team did bad vs the bills. Rewind to when Moore came in the second half of the season a couple years back. He did more than fine. Do you want to trust Delvin with that?
You guys are nuts. Moore is so unjustly hated on this site it's ridiculous. The guy was the Dolphins MVP not very long ago. As in most valuable player on the team. He is one of the best back ups in the league.Moore was put into a very bad spot in the Buffalo game this past year. Things had to happen super quick or they were not gonna happen at all. I can understand not wanting to pay him 5mil but not wanting him at all or thinking that Devlin is better is flat out asinine.
i dunno what's worse, seeing this thread created yet again .... Or seeing people place trust in pat devlin.
