We need to try to sign DeSean Jackson or risk handing him over to the Patriots...

I would do my own research but from his past i would sign him. I mean should we just cut pouncey because he has relationship w murderer and drug rumors

So you feel comfortable signing a guy who openly pledges his allegiance to the crips?

Despite the abysmal state of our OL, I honestly don't care if they cut Pouncey tomorrow. In a way, I'd welcome the move. One less hoodlum.

This is the GAME of football, this is not choir club.

A lot of the players in the NFL come from underprivileged areas that have heavy gang activity and have such a different dynamic that people in different socio-economic levels can't understand their decision making. Calling people thugs just because they hang out with people who need to commit crimes to make money doesn't make someone a bad person. DeSean Jackson would probably be a thug if he wasn't rich but he is rich and he is only going to get richer.

Do you think people who "need to commit crimes to make money" are bad people?

Honestly I don't think there bad people just people who see other people as bad people. Not everything is black and white. Not everyone who steals is a murderer and a liar. If people "need to commit crimes" to survive, I see that as a bad society not bad individuals.

i want SOMEONE, ANYONE to tell us all WHY desean jackson would choose us over the patriots?

he is a wr and given a choice to catch passes from hall of famer tom brady [who is showing no signs of slowing down] OR won nothing, done nothing, still a big question mark ryan tannehill, who do you think he would choose. if your were a big time wr, who would YOU choose?

the only hope [and thats if the team is even interested] we have of landing desean is if he is ONLY about the money and we blow any and everyone away with MASSIVE dollars.

he is going to the pats. if they pass, then he is a new york jet. i dont see any other big time team with the cap room and need for his services if the pats bawk, MAYBE seattle. and that would leave him wanting to go to the team of the moment, the "this is the place to be" team like the browns. the jets always have a big buzz and now with all the geno hype and mike vick signing, that is a very logical place for him to be, PLUS they have huge bux to spend and its a big need.

we have NOTHING to offer desean jackson at this time unless he is all about the contract and we offer MUCH more than anyone else.

He won't come here according to you because of Tannehill but he will go to the Jets if the Pats don't want him?

Who thrills him on the Jets that he can catch passes from - Geno or Vick?

And who's saying they are? At minimum let's agree that everyone who steals is a thief, yeah? And that stealing other people's things is a bad thing to do.

I'm all about fixing society. Mosey on down to the pofo, we're doing it every day. But a guy who breaks into your car to steal your stereo probably isn't doing it to pay for grandma's heart transplant, and he's probably not even doing it so he can buy bread and rice to feed his brothers and sisters. He's probably just an asshole. And he's responsible for his own asshole behavior.

But anyway this explains your attitude toward DeSean Jackson. Obviously he's not a bad guy because the gang members he's hanging around aren't even bad guys themselves. I honestly wonder what your standards are for this kind of thing. Are there no bad guys? Is everyone a victim?

In any case, be careful with this whole "need to commit crimes to survive" bit. Once your standard can so easily be used to justify murder, it's probably a clue there's something wrong with it.

DeSean Jackson issues statement following his release from Eagles

http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/...tement_following_his_release_from_eagles.html

"First I would like to thank the Eagles organization, the Eagles fans and the city of Philadelphia for my time in Philly. I would also like to thank coach Andy Reed [sic] for bringing me in. Secondly, I would like to address the misleading and unfounded reports that my release has anything to do with any affiliation that has been speculated surrounding the company I keep off of the field. I would like to make it very clear that I am not and never have been part of any gang. I am not a gang member and to speculate and assume that I am involved in such activity off the field is reckless and irresponsible. I work very hard on and off the field and I am a good person with good values. I am proud of the accomplishments that I have made both on and off the field. I have worked tirelessly to give back to my community and have a positive impact on those in need. It is unfortunate that I now have to defend myself and my intentions. These reports are irresponsible and just not true . I look forward to working hard for my new team. God Bless."

"I am not and never have been part of any gang."
Anyone who believes this is pretty naive. They laughed on the radio that he walks around the worst neighborhoods untouched, like he's protected in some way. And neighbors say people come and go from his house at all hours, and one day a quarter of a million went missing, along with some firearms. No break in at all! These people coming and going are likely gang members. Who's to say one day things won't go bad ala Hernandez, and his friends kill someone. The fact is, he's had "character issues" from day one, from college, which caused him to fall in the draft. He was a steal at that point, but when you turn around and spit in the face of your team after they hand you a big contract, and not show up at meetings and demand more money, etc...the don't be surprised if you get released. There are plenty of teams NOT interested, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he ended up with the Jets, like they're saying.
