We Still Need Another Big DT!

one more wouldnt hurt...but im pretty comfortable with or DT situation
 
So we bring in another aging veteran for the d-line??? Chester, Bowens, Carter, Holliday, Zgnonina(sp?) Traylor.

We will have enough healthy bodies to more than adequately fill the DT position.

Plus we did draft a DT, why not let him and Romero try and fill the position rather than sign another body who has ZERO chance of being here in 2 years like most of those listed above.

I mean, are we one DT away from a SB run???? Am I missing something here?

Well there's not one of those on the market right now........and if there were, he wouldn't be cheap.

Let's just take a long hard look at the young ones we have (Romero and Vickerson) and see if we can uncover some upside there.
 
Manuel Wright from USC is a possibility in the sup. draft.
 
Amnesia anyone??.. why do we need a young guy w/ upside when we just drafted Vickerson. Starters are Traylor and Chester. If chester is bad we rotate in romero and zgonina. if there are injuries we put in vickerson and Carter. Thats pretty good depth right there. Especially since chester should be good at least by mid-season. And dont forget that about 15% of the time we will be in the 3-4 hybrid.

vickerson has an upside alright. he'll move up from late draft pick camp fodder to possible marginal role player. i was thinking more along the lines of a tommy harris,vince wilfork, travis johnson type.
 
DT Situation.

We could get McFarland, Vickerson could do well if he makes the team, if we dont sign any1 then were sticking with the guys we have.

And how do you suppose we get one of those talented young players?? They aren't available last I checked.

But, if you are saying that we need to DRAFT a stud like that next year, I'm right there with you. But I think the thread starter was indicating that we needed to make a move now......which isn't going to land anything better for our team than Vickerson. At least he's young and COULD develope into a solid player in 2-3 years

thats exactly what i meant, ( high draft picks used on DTs) im tired of how we have neglected this position since drafting timbo
 
Wendall Bryant from Arizona would be of interest if they cut him loose... 6'5" 303 only 26.... he has the physical ability but not has put it together yet...

yeah,i think we're fine..can holliday play inside too? I mean, on a desperate situation of needing a backup of the backup of the backup?
