Weather affecting Pats? Not so fast....

The air is so thick you can cut it.

Light to no wind.

Oh, and if it rains, you will get steam hovering over the ground.

No comparison.

I live in SOFL and am used to it. I don't sweat much, but i recently played paintball around 1:30 or 2, I was completely gassed after about 30 - 45 mins, and I live and grew up in this weather. I couldn't imagine wearing pads and running around in this for 2 hours.

The only thing I've ever felt was comparable to this weather was when I went to Vegas. It was over 100 degrees and was completely dry, it felt like I was being suffocated while walking down the street. Nothing up north can hold a candle to the weather down here.

First test will be when the door to the team jet opens and that fog of humidity slaps them in the face. Sorry to all who try to downplay it or compare it to anything else, there's nothing like it unless you head to the jungles of Brazil.

You guys forgot two years ago on opening night when we were the ones gasping for air in the heat?

I live in Florida and love the temp (I very much prefer to be hot than cold) but when I went to Vegas a few years ago... GOOD GOD... it felt like I was in an oven. Give me Florida humidity any day.

I live in Orlando, Florida. When I goto Miami the difference in temp (humidity) kills me and it takes far longer than a week to get use to it. You can't prepare for Miami heat, except to practice in it.

Really? Damn dude, I live in St. Cloud and I didn't realize there was that much of a difference. All I can say is hot and humid or not, I hope our team comes to play and does not rely on a so-called weather advantage. I want us to be competitive. If we come out flat and lay an egg I am gonna be pissed.

I live in "Patsville" too and while it is hot and humid it is STILL 10 to 12 degrees warmer in South Florida. The Northeast has no idea what hot is until they go South.

I live in CT (not far from Pats-ville). Why do people around the country think it is like in the 60's up here??? Not.

Let me tell you, it is FRIGGIN HOT and HUMID here this week. 90 degrees and VERY humid today. Upper 80's and more humidity the rest of the week.

Yep, perfect time for the weather to get like that in New England....NOT. This is just giving the Pats the opportunity to practice in this all week. And knowing Bellicheese, he is making them all practice in Black Sweaters.
I posted statistics a while ago disproving any notional that the Dolphins have a home field advantage in September. Over the past decade we've only won about 25 percent or something of our September home games so I'm not really sure where this whole, home field advantage in the summer, discussion comes from but it's a fact the Dolphins have no home field advantage in the summer.

Even if it was comparable you can't climitize in a weeks time.

Especially when it was seen as plain as day that last year and in few years past that our players were winded during games

Not saying it's not hotter in the south than the north. Just saying there is no home field advantage in Miami

I didn't forget how it helped us last December though. Living in heat helps your body acclimate to the lower amounts of oxygen in the higher temp air. Your body adapts physically to maintain normal VO2 levels. When you travel into it your body isn't as acclimated and won't be able to process oxygen as efficiently leading to a drop in performance. Add to that wearing navy and absorbing more heat thus sweating more and you'll typically see a decline in performance.

The Miami home field advantage is real and we need to add noise levels to that Sunday to capitalize.

Home field advantage works when a team is talented. See the 90's Bills in wintery Rich Stadium.

Not that this hasn't been beating a dead horse but... I'm from the DC area and now living in Orlando and mid summer is just as bad with temperature and humidity as around here, but this time of year varies much more. I actually think its hotter and more humid in DC right now. To me, Floridians make a bigger deal out of the heat than they need to, but I am also from one of the few other places that also gets 100% humidity and triple digit temperatures. I did go to school in RI though and it absolutely does not get the same heat and humidity...ever.

signman, I too grew up a "nutmeger".. dead in the bowels of PatsLand.. trust, the humidity there ain't close to SoFla! from our fam compound in DeLand straight thru SoBe to the Glades.. air in Florida gets thicker'n pisspooppigwater! and I LOVE THAT

Agree it isn't the same KIND of heat/humidity...... but like i already said, it is certainly NOT a night and day difference.

Dude...it's a whole other level of hot between Tampa and Miami......Miami is in the tropics and you don't get used to that in Mass.
