What about Tim Couch

if his arm is ok and he is what he was when he took cleveland to the playoffs a few yrs back then y not take a chance on him? ferotte is def not a long term solution and aj is not exactly a pro bowler. couch at his best is prob better than aj will ever be

That's the point, he's not the same player. He turned out to be a real disappointment.

Dont laugh! Yes I know Tim Couch washed out in Cleveland and a lot of quarterbacks much better would have done the same with the lack of talent surrounding them. It didnt help that Couch was beat up as well. But hey the guy is a gamer, looks to be healthy after shoulder and eye laser surgery and is refocused. Couch is about a month away from being able to try out and it wont hurt to bring him in for a tryout. He has better stuff than Feeley or Frerotte and at the least could be the Dolphins second or third string quarterback. There are a number of guarterbacks who get drafted high, dont get it done as they are forced into action and then later bounce back with solid careers. Couch sames to have learnt from his past and wants to play to win. He very well could be the Fins quarterback of the present and future if completely healthy and wont cost a lot to sign for a year or two. Plus he is only 27.

You are ****in' high arent ya?

Since his number are much better than AJ's what does that make AJ.

Ridiculous remark. Feeley hasn't played enough to make that comparison. Give Feeley 2-3 yrs and before you jump to premature conclusions.

i'd bring him in i mean he's only 27 so you cant so that hes wahsed up yet and looking at waht we got he beats all here and he can recognize the other teams unis unlike AJ so if he's healthy take him. So waht he was a bsut that just means he wasnt worth the number 1 pick but we didnt waste it and he'll sign for minimum so it would be stupid to pass him up completely and unlike leaf or akili he played decent compared to them just a little inconsistant so quit being picky atleast give him a workout

Bring him in to compete with Berlin and Sage for the 3rd spot. Really Couch should probaly go to the Arena league or NFL Europe and try to salvage his career, he has no shot of making a team in the NFL as anything better than the 3rd Qb right now. He might need some kind of surgery or something, it sounds like his arm is hurt and/or dead.

Couch didnt have the sorry excuse for a line that AJ (and even Jay) had to deal with last year. I don't recall Cleveland ever being called for... "False start, Everybody but the Center"

It is really weird reading all of these opinions on Tim Couch & the Browns. I wonder how many of you have seen Tim Couch play more than a few times? Not many. I live in Cleveland ... I am a die-hard Browns/Fins fan ... when they play I root for the Fins though. That being said I had to chime in when I read the comment above.

The posts by some show your age & lack of knowledge.

Yankeebilly you must be a complete idiot or ignorant to football outside of your home state! The Browns have had one of the worst, if NOT the WORST, O-lines in football since their return in 99. Tim Couch was a gamer ... was he deserving of the #1 pick? ... probably not, but the fact is he had absolutely no talent around him! I watched Couch since 99 & I watch the entire season last year for Feeley. There is no comparison between the two. Couch is a far better QB. Also, you could argue that Feeley had more weapons last year than Couch ever had. The Browns (since 99) have not had an offensive weapon like Chambers or McMichael. The Fins line was horrible last year, but how many int's were thrown for td's? Feeley does a very bad job of looking off his primary receiver ... that is a fact. I will agree that Feeley is still young & can improve, but if Couch is healthy it's a no-brainer.

Feeley has a stronger arm ... that is it! He is soooo out of control it is sick.

Cleveland had a QB controvery sparked by its coach ... Holcomb was never more than a backup. Couch was severly injured ... if, and it is a huge if, he is totally healthy the Fin's would greatly benefit from Couch.

He lead that subpar team to the playoffs with William Green, Kevin Johnson, Dennis Northcut & Co.!! What would he do with Ronnie, Ricky, Chambers & McMichael & a very good D?!!

Feeley = Turnover!!

You can say what you want, bottom line...

A.J. Feeley: Competing for a starting QB spot
Tim Couch: Home

Well said I eman come on people unless Feeley sold his sole to the devil for accuracy on his throws we're in for a long year. he might not have had a good o-line but he ahd recievers and his lack of finding a throwing zone is why he led the league in int returns for TD. There were QB's in far worse situations then him that did better. Just becasue we wasted a second rounder on him doesant mean he's gonna pull a good season

Well, first of all I'll do my best to refrain from calling you a complete idiot. You would do well to do the same.

The Browns have had a consistantly bad offensive line for several years, but none can compare with the ineptness of our line last season. Another poster asked why Couch's numbers were better than Feeley's...I replied that Couch didnt have to put up with a line as bad as ours, and I stand by that statement.
You have your opinion that Couch is a far better QB. I have mine that while AJ isnt anything to write home about, Couch at this point is even worse.

And your statement "... was he deserving of the #1 pick? ... probably not".... "Probably"? you mean you arent absolutely certain that Tim Couch was not worth the #1 overall pick? And you call me a complete idiot???
