Couch sames to have learnt from his past and wants to play to win. He very well could be the Fins quarterback of the present and future if completely healthy and wont cost a lot to sign for a year or two. Plus he is only 27.

tim has no confidence and going to cleveland was the worst thing for him, he couldn't even make it as a back-up to farve, where there were no expectations for him. pull out your fork, he's done.

You must not watch alot of Browns football, there QBs are always hurt, He Holcome Garcia last year. Cant stay healthy behine there line which has been one of the worst in the NFL the past five seasons.
 
he sucked at clevland..that should be enough right there
 
there another thread with a big couch article...explains some things like eye surgery and rehabilitaion. says he was hurt when he was wiht the packers...so who knows

Every QB has sucked at Clevland. Remember that pro bowl QB garcia. No oline and no TO and now he looks like a joke. He had a couple 30 td 10 int seasons when he had a SUPPORTING CAST in san fran.

that had more to do with him not being in San fran anymore than anything else.......you know the team where ANY QB can look good. Montana, Young, Grbac, Garcia were al studs there, and not much anywhere else.

I still am disturbed that Couch lost his starting job to Kelly Holcomb....that right there tells me all I have to know about him. With the same O-Line, and the same receivers and backs, Holcomb beat him out.

Do you forget the constant nagging injuries, at one point Mcnabb lost his starting job to Feeley(well detmer really) but that was also an injury situation.
 
Kelly Holcomb did show he was more then just a backup alot of you are forgetting he could air it out alot at times
 
I would say give him a tryout and allow him to prove himself. Couch still can have major upside if he's physically ok( which is what his problem was with Green Bay and towards the end of the Cleveland era) and eager to try i say show us what youve got. To be honest...it was never Couchs physical skills that i doubted...i saw him play at Kentucky and he was one of the best prospects i'd seen in a long time...trouble is he went to Cleveland where they shattered him emotionally and mentally. Id be more worried about his mind set than anything. He did show promise early in Cleveland so some of you that are claiming he sucked is just wrong...now he didnt progress like he should of but thats debatable why. I say give him a shot...what could it hurt? Just so that you guys know...Couch never ever had a season below 73 passer rating...not that its great but what was Feeleys last year? Below 65 i know....Allrighty then. Give the guy a chance.
 
I agree. What harm could it do Miami to bring him in for a look? He's likely to play for minimum salary now and surely it's worth seeing what he's like after surgery? Maybe he'll be terrible but possibly not. I thought he was a pretty decent QB when I saw him play (on TV obviously).
 
Steve Young was a bust in tampa and now he's going into the HOF with Dan. let's just give couch a chance who knows we might have the next Young
 
^ Young played in a miserable system on a miserable team and still showed signs of making plays. Tim Couch played in a miserable system on a miserable team and most times looked like a deer in the headlights, made absolutely ridiculous plays and his arms went dead every training camp.
 
What is wrong with some of you?

The same people who are bashing Feeley non stop, talk about giving couch a chance?
Feeley has yet to get the reps in TC not ever w/ with the first team, had all the garbage to deal with last year. And people just right him off just to come back and say "hey couch.....I remember him let's give him a shot".

RIDICULOUS.

What has couch shown in the nfl that would make you want him a part of this team? And don't answer with "what has feeley done?"....That isn't my point. My point is the same people who are ready to bring in a bust are the same who condemn feeley. WHY?
 
^ I completely agree with that. Feeley and Couch are sort of similar in the fact they started in terrible situations, the thing is in my opinion Feeley showed signs of life. He showed signs of making some really good plays, while Couch was really just nothing for his entirety. He rarely did anything special, he was nothing like he was hyped to be. People forget A.J Feeley was a late draft pick, Couch was number 1. Feeley isn't supposed to show that much talent yet he does, and Couch is supposed to show some real talent and he doesn't. Simpley, just stay away from Couch. He's useless
