Do they get a cut of the calendar sales?
From what I understand they do, but we're not talking a whole lot.

not only that, but only a select few of the squad get on the calendar, and get to go to those exotic places. but i'm sure that's all paid for.
$125 for 3 hours of work is more than enough. It is a part time job that requires shaking pom poms, their behinds, and smiling. If they don't like their jobs, go to a strip club.
These girls elect to be on this team and although monetarily aren't compensated for practice which is NOT mandatory for these girls(hence why they don't get paid).
Although one Buffalo Jills member was paid $1,800 for a season, that’s the highest amount for any of the plaintiffs. The others made anywhere between $105 to $806 for one season. What does a season entail? For starters, eight home football games, each requiring eight hours of the members’ time. The Buffalo Jills have mandatory practice twice a week, totaling eight hours, as well as photo sessions and fittings. They’re also required to make at least 20 appearances at corporate, charity or community events throughout the year. While some of the events were deemed “paid appearances,” the lawsuit claims most Jills were never compensated even though the franchise collected millions of dollars for these events.
I happen to work alongside a KC Chiefs cheerleader. This very topic came up and the question of pay/compensation was asked of her. She basically said that if she did it for the money then she wouldn't do it at all. She makes decent money at her job with me but also works as a waitress at a national restraunt chain just to keep up with the high cost of ongoing dance classes and other necessities of maintaining her cheerleader position.
Yes, they are underpaid.
If she has to take a part time job as a waitress, then she doesn't make "decent money" at her main job. Just clarifying.
And if she kept track of and added up all the makeup, all the requirements, even stuff like body tanning which the the NFL considers makeup, there's no doubt she would be way in the red. None of these girls would possibly keep a spreadsheet and write it all down, it would be counterproductive and there's no point in it. But if they did, then you'd see. Just a quick google glance and it says cheerleaders on one team end up making anywhere from 100 - 800 dollars per year. I don't even believe it's that high, like I said I'm sure they're in the negative.
What I don't understand is if cheerleading is so unimportant to the NFL then why don't they just allow the cheerleaders to keep the money that's generated from the calendar? I mean, if it's pennies and unimportant, then just let them have it. But of course it generates big revenue, it's not pennies, and of course it spreads the NFL brand. You can buy that calendar all over the world. And the advertising revenue must be unbelievable.
If the NFL wants to, they can just go back to using volunteers. But they would never do that because they would forfeit the right to dictate what their employees can and cannot do.

Spot on!! You nailed it, if the cheerleaders are of little importance and do nothing for the sport, then just let them keep all the profits from all these events and such!! The NFL makes money, albeit not comparible to the main product on the field, but they do make money from them. I am not a "Share the wealth" kinda thinker, believe everyone should earn their pay and work hard for it, but the amount they pay them is rediculous IMO.

You didn't clarify a thing. In fact, you did the opposite. Your short sighted opinion only spread disinformation. I know approximately what she makes and trust me, by todays standards, it's decent money. By herself she's making above the median household income. Most people in this country would be happy to earn what she does. Therefore it’s “decent”. Just clarifying.
She purchases high end make up products. She pays an exorbitant amount for ongoing dance classes at the best studios in order to remain competitive. Gym memberships. Fancy clothes for events that require her appearance, not necessarily in uniform... And on and on.
I'm guessing you're not in an industry that places value on appearance, physical ability or a combination of the two. Otherwise you’d know that these things do not come cheap or easy and that it’s possible that some girls may need to supplement their income a bit to help keep up. Your knowledge of this subject seems to be based only on Google results.
I don't think you understood what HoneyB was trying to say at all. In any case, your clarification has left me in need of further clarification: are you saying what she makes from cheerleading alone is above the median household income?
