What can Brown do for us? Deliver his a$$ to camp pronto!

I would like to see you say that in Huizenga's face. He'll kill you and get the mob to bury you in his Waste Management

I agree he should go to camp but you can't blame him for wanting to get paid. What would you do?
ITs exactly what I'd do. Its more a matter of timing with an early TC date. He's a RB not a QB. So a few extra days off isn't going to stunt any development.

The thing is everyone on this board is ripping into brown now. I am not happy about his cap or what he wants but lets face it, what woudl you do? Its anyones job to get as much money as possible. Is he jsut going to accept less money because the fans want him too? I wouldnt. It just pisses me off that this is now the norm. So I wouldnt go blaming Ronnie for that.

On a side note this could turn into a funny Rivers, Brees situation. If Ricky really does run like he used to I think it woudl be hard to justify starting Brown over him. Then we have a guy making 8 million on the bench with Ricky being untradeable because no one will touch him.

Linehan will find a way to get him involved. Ronnie's supposed to be super versatile. I could see him playing some Fullback in a split backfield or some H back. He won't be on the bench even if Ricky is a Stud again.

Welcome to the business we know as the NFL. If there was no salary cap like baseball. no one would be saying a thing

Yeah we are gonna have to wait alittle longer for Ronnie to sign, hopefully he wont miss all of training camp.

If there was a slary cap in baseball then the Yankees would be the worst baseball team in the MLB.

This isn't about Ronnie wanting more money. This is just the way the process goes. The only reason there is a problem is because we started camp a week before SF. The number 2 always waits until the number 1 signs. It was just unfortunate timing for us this year. If he is not signed by the end of the week, then we should start these threads. but they haven't even got to see Smith's contract yet. once they see that they will sit down and work out a deal.

Wow, there is some serious social class bitterness coming out!

Many of these billionaires "yucking it up" who you seem to think take no risks to be where they are is laughable. You have any idea what it takes to reach the level they have attained in business? Not a clue I'm sure. You have no idea about risk my friend.

What a dumb post. Did you not see I was answering someone?? Damn I hate when people quote you totally out of context...as if they are looking for an argument.

Maybe your definition of risk is totally different from mine. I know what risk is. IMO it has more to do with dying than losing a buck or two.
Maybe if you worship the dollar, you may think what "some" did was risky.

If you want to blame anyone, Blame the 49ers. They gave a freakin 20% raise to Tom Condon and Alex Smith. If they didnt do that and gave the standard percentage raise, we wouldnt be having this thread right now. Tom Condon basically screwed up the pay for the top 10 draft picks this year and I cant imagine what the top pick in next years draft will be. I think the CBA expires in 2006, I pray to god they do something about the rookie salaries because right now its getting ridiculous.

Also, Ronnie doesnt play QB or LT, so he shouldnt get Smith, Gallery, or Eli Manning money. Im at the point now where i want him to sign, but I DONT want him to sign because of salary reasons. I dont think Ronnie is the type of player who is going to hold out, and we shouldnt even worry about that now. How many 1st round picks have signed? 5? By the end of next week I might be worried, as of right now, nah. RB is one of the easiest positions to pick up on. A lot of it is instinct and decision making so Im not worried about him learning the playbook or falling behind because he missed the first week of TC.

Be patient people...it is still a long way to the first week of September....Ronnie will sign it just takes time.

I totally agree.

My point about Ronnie needing to be in camp is that everyday he doesn't show up is another day that Ricky Williams has to shine in the spotlight while putting his negatives in the past, thus reducing Brown's perceived need.

Dumb huh....

I took nothing out of text.
First off, it's the business leaders of the world that create the economy that allow athletes to be paid to play a GAME.

Secondly, you brought up the money aspect painting owners as men who just roll around in money without taking any thought into what it takes to get to that position. It's not just money they risk it's massive amounts of time, family relationships, health etc. Even if you just consider Risking money as the only risk, it is a big deal. If you got off your butt and ever tried to start your own business you'd feel what stress and risk is. Players take physical risks of course but to insinuate those risks are larger than the risks the owners took to get where they are is rediculous.

I don't worship money but you and I both know that money is what allows you to live life the way you'd want to live it. We are BOTH discussing money right now so don't make it out that you above the subject of money.

I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about football players not policeman, fireman, costruction workers or soldiers. Classic! :shakeno:

Being called dumb from you somehow seems like a compliment. :D

He has worked hard for ten or more years for free to get to this spot. He deserves every penny someone is willing to pay him. The truth is no one on this board really cares about Ronnie, his family or his finances, Just his physical talent. So let him worry about the above and we'll worry about his performance when the time comes.

I called your response dumb...because it was and if you had read the thread, you would realize it is what it is. All you did was clip my post and respond to that...like I said, it seems like you were fishing for an argument.

I'm glad you can stand on your pedestal and lecture me on what risk is and how our economy works. You are real smart dude. Impressive maybe. I was clueless!! :rolleyes2

Wow, I played football for 10 years and I never considered it work. Funny huh?

its wierd considering the uncertainty of draft picks these days...the higher the pick the more money for drafting certainty...but at what cost...
