Gee, I can't believe I got thumb-downed for being a chicken little.
 
C'mon man. We don't even know who they will hire. Getting rid of Ireland was brilliant, but Ross can still **** it up.
 
I don't believe Ross has learned that a partial cleaning of the house, often means its also partially messy. Sometimes you just have to strip it bare, and start anew. That does not mean the franchise has to set the reset button on the players, but it should have set the reset on the front office and the coaching staff. Most signs point to Philbin coming up short as a head coach. Ireland was a train wreck. Aponte, despite being a tattle-tale (on Ireland to Philbin), she's probably the sole front office person I'd retain, and I could be talked out of it.

The way I see it is that an OC and a better GM (which we are nearly guaranteed of) will help, but I don't see an elite club with Philbin as HC and especially with Ross as the owner. Personally, I don't envision an elite Dolphins team so long as Ross is the owner, but I'd chop off my pinky-finger to be wrong on that. Football is a side gig for the man, and his interests are elsewhere. He does a halfass job as a result, and it creates a power vacuum below him that is hard to resist. Can it work out? Sure. Luck is a crazy thing. However, the way the team is structured and the coaches currently in place seem to me to be working against us.
 
Gamble or Farmer. Either way SO much better than Ireland. A massive upgrade. For OC I think Kubiak will be our guy and he will be awesome so I'm very positive but will feel better when these 2 hires are done.

Nobody has been hired yet correct? Oh, are you asking what the outcome is right now, well if we go into the draft and FA and then the season without an OC and GM, then I guess things will get worse since Philbin will be acting as HC, GM, OC, and probably a few other positions.

Question for the OP, now that we know new players will be drafted this year, and some players on the roster won't be retained, what do you think the outcome will be? Will we regret bringing in new players, whom we have no idea who they will be, or letting go players who we also have no idea who they will be, will they make the team better?

I just don't understand posts like this one, I really really really don't

Except the HC is still here, so it wasn't a complete house cleaning. Furthermore the core of the team will stay intact including the QB, again its not a true house cleaning. I'm not saying its a bad thing, but this is, in my opinion, an incredibly premature thread
 
an option should be - Ross has created a place where great people will not want to go and Sparano is LHFAO

My thoughts/fear exactly. I can see it now.
Ross is at the podium. Standing beside him are Dawn Aponte and Joe Philbin. He feeds us some crap about an extensive, all inclusive search to find the best GM and OC, because, well, "the fans deserve the best". And then says that the search only confirmed what they originally thought. That is "that the best candidates for both openings were already in house". Ross then says "Let me now introduce the Miami Dolphins new GM..........Brian Gaine" He then says "I am also extremely excited to announce our new OC"...................long pause while he checks with Aponte on the proper pronunciation of the person's name.........................."Ken O'keefe". Camera focuses on the big sh** eating grin on Dawn's Aponte's face. Philbin remains stoic.

Ross truly believe's that we Dolfans are idiots and that he has "pulled the wool over our eyes" once again.
 
I think we will change the name of the team to the Miami Bridesmaids
