What I believe is really going on with Fisher

i would accomodate fish also...this stuff about too much power is crap to me...anyways...if fish turns us down ck who do you think has the best shot at the job out of who we've interviewed??? zimmer???

So hard to tell. If Fisher's not here it's because Ross gave Ireland a vote of confidence. If that's the case, then Mike Zimmer has ties to Jeff Ireland and would make sense as a Head Coach prospect. Zimmer would also keep Bowles here as Defensive Coordinator (about 90% guaranteed), which probably appeals to Ross, and so Steve Ross can set his focus along with everyone else on getting a great offensive coordinator and/or great quarterback.

But at the same time, who knows if they're really sold on any of the other guys they interviewed. They could be waiting to see what other teams get popped out of the playoffs.

For instance, why isn't Rick Dennison getting some play? You know better than most how Ross was instrumental in bringing in Brandon Marshall and paying him a ton of money. "Rico" as Brandon calls him coached Marshall for a few years as offensive coordinator in Denver under Mike Shanahan. His offense in Houston is about the best coached I've seen all year. The success of their 3rd string rookie 5th round quarterback is a testament to that. Not to take away from what Yates has done, but he was 3rd string in camp and for half of the season. Getting him to play the way he's played is nothing short of a miracle, regardless of Yates' underlying talent. That offense has steamrolled on, and I heard something ridiculous like Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub and Arian Foster were only on the field all together for like one game all year, something like that.

Dennison was interviewed by the Broncos for their HC job last year. They ended up giving it to John Fox but the fact that Dennison was interviewed means that when he was with the Broncos as OC, he definitely impressed some people there to where they wanted him back. At one point, some believed Dennison to be the leading candidate.

I think you would be among those expecting the Texans' playoff run to end this weekend, so that would be a possibility as an interview in a continuing process.

Also, we've talked about Chuck Pagano. I think that would be a tremendous hire. If you're going to look at Mike Zimmer, why not Chuck? Why not go for the best? Ray Lewis raves about Chuck, claims that the renewal of that Ravens defense is directly attributable to him. If the Texans pull off the upset, why not interview Chuck?

There's a possibility for interviewing Carmichael but I kind of doubt it. I think he's still too green. But Vic Fangio could find himself eliminated and then he'd absolutely be worth an interview. The defenses that played overall the best this year and were the best coached, Fangio's was at the very top. And again, if you're thinking about a Mike Zimmer, why not a Vic Fangio?

I get the feeling that IF we do not get Fisher tomorrow...then the interviews will start back up again.

What? can you elaborate on this please?
]

Michael Lombardi, who is a close friend of Harbaugh's, said in no uncertain terms that Miami was facing an uphill climb with Harbaugh because of local ties and whatnot, but ultimately the reason Harbaugh didn't consider Miami was because Steve Ross tried to sell him on Jeff Ireland, whom Jim Harbaugh did not know nor trust.

IF we don't get Ireland CK, a name that seems to be getting a lot of steam for an interview is Mike McCoy. Your thoughts on him?

OT I LOVE how I have been saying for 2 WEEKS how Fisher just doesn't want to be screwed over and people don't pay me a lick of attention, but CK says something and people take note. HAHA.

well think of it this way...after the way the sparano thing went last year wouldn't you be worried about being screwed over if you were considering coming here??? i know i would...people think the way that sparano thing went down doesn't matter but it does and these candidates especially the ones who can have their choice of the lot take notice

no no lol. I'm not disagreeing. I said FROM THE BEGINNING that he doesn't want an front office to screw him over like the Titans did and nobody listened to me haha.

which is probably why he's demanding this power...he doesn't want to be forcefed anything again...like marc colombo

my thoughts are if fish says no to us this weekend keep interviewing...pull guys in off teams eliminated like ck mentions...i haven't seen any name that we've brought in to date that gets me all that excited at this point...

Why does the guys name have to get you excited??!! We've been there and done that many times in the past. Look at the guys who became great coaches who were nobodys when they were hired. Who is to say Dave Toub won't be a great head coach? He's not a sexy name and is flying under the radar but he is a respected guy who players like to play for.

You could say that about anybody what they might be, but history does not have but one example of a guy going from special teams coach to head coach so odds are not with him especially since this is the only team that interviewed him.

Wasn't John Harbaugh a Special Teams coach when the Ravens hired him?

A little gimmicky for my tastes. He's being touted because he changed the offense a little bit to accommodate Tim Tebow but for the most part I haven't been all THAT impressed with how they've used him. If you're impressed by that stuff there are dozens of guys in the college ranks that do it better. And it was John Fox's call to make those changes to the offense, not Mike McCoy's.

I like Rick Dennison, Vic Fangio and Chuck Pagano as remaining NFL assistants we could interview. I'm sticking to them.

I said one example and that was the one although technically he was secondary/special teams coach. Im not saying special teams coaches cant be good coaches I just think to be considered for head coach they should move up in the amount of time that Toub has been coaching

Why no love for Chud?
I think people are starting to notice Chud but I dont think many teams feel he has the resume as of yet to take over their team. Jville interviewed him but hired mularkey the day that he interviewed in fact told him to wait then offered him the job

Regarding CK's game theory & losing Fisher for sure if Ireland is fired.

I'm sorry that makes no sense if Fisher is OK with Ireland in Miami but wants power over Ireland, however the hang up is getting the power away from Ireland thus making Ireland the real deal breaker.
Ross is according to CK's POV faced with losing both Ireland & Fisher or just Fisherhence putting Ross in a no win situation seemingly
however Ross holds all the cards and Ireland & Fisher understand this.

First this game theory makes Fisher out to be a scumbag in my opinion only because as its explained by CK
Fisher would take Ireland to St. Louis which comes off to me as a great assumption on CK or whomever is feeding this info to his sources.
as for Ireland he is in no more a place of power than Fisher here, lets just play this out based on game theory Ross sees this "trap" and solves it simply by moving on from Fisher, waiting until Fisher is fully set up in St. LOUIS, with a GM, then fires Ireland for costing him Fisher.
Ireland knows this to be a real probability and therefore IMO would keep his reputation & job intact by not standing in the way.
