The redskins did not do a smart move here. The Dolphins certainly did. Sage was a 4th round talent that we got a year later for a 7th round pick. And when that happens its usually because the guy ends up sucking or not being impressive, but thats not the case with Sage. The bottom line with Spurrier, is when Spurrier got there and Danny told him to draft Patrick Ramsey, Spurrier KNEW that Sage was going to be the last one standing without a chair when it all came down to it. It didn't matter how well Sage did in preseason or in training camp.
I'm not a Sage homer but he definitely deserved a roster spot over Danny Woeful. Maybe not over Shane Matthews because Matthews is the only one on the roster with starting experience...so its really hard to compare Matthews and Rosenfels. Since when is Steve Spurrier an "expert" on QBs??? Yeah, Shane Matthews, Danny Woeful, Jesse Palmer, and Doug Johnson...WHOA BOY now THEMS are some DAMN GOOD QBs!!!
Sheesh...of those 4 two that have probably the better prospects are the two that Spurrier hated, Palmer and Johnson.
This is just obvious blatant Spurrier right here...keepin his own and gettin rid of the leftovers. I'm surprised he didn't make a huge push with Danny to grab Clinton Portis and trade Stephen Davis somewhere else. He's already at odds with standout 1st round pick Rod Gardner and I'm sure Rod will be gone and replaced with a Spurrier-ite within a year or two.
